just wondering if there is any point me doing this i want a board that does usb 3 and 6gbs sata...was thinking of doing cpu...any advise on this please thanks.

ok, just don't overclock it much, theres not much difference in the two anyways. its only what, 400mhz or so? don't worry it will be fine to leave it on all the time as well! :)

Only if you have a urge to throw your money away. :)

Same manufacturing process, just passed out at a higher base clock.

As suggested, if you want the extra 400Mhz performance just clock it yourself and save the money. Same MB etc here and it's no real brain drain and if your really that concerned just enable speedstepping etc to keep your rig cooler during idle moments.

Short answer = NOPE :)

it the i7 920 co....which i think is one of the first i7 920 they made...well looking at the other stuff pointless on my graphics card the newer ati are no better either so probably wait now...so what and when is the successor to the i7 due out?

You can definetly squeeze more out of the chip, with out degrading it.

If your scared, find out what the maximum 'safe' volts and temps are according to Intel for your chip and overclock within this parameter.

Your be within safe parameters and have increased performance.

dont think so only play games...day to day usage...bit vidoe editing and converting....and i think most people overclock just to play with them see what they can get not that they use it...am i right.

Of course you'll have a play with the chip and see how high you can go/want to go with it. However most ppl here have a 24/7 overclock they think is safe for regular use. I've had a 920 D0 at 4GHz 24/7 for a year and a half. No issues there, it's all just free performance should you choose to use it :)

Just up your bclk on your 920 slightly so you're getting 950 speeds and you've just saved yourself a lot of hassle. Doubt you'd even need to up the vcore, but I'd recommend you set it manually to avoid any overvolting.
