** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

No problems in blues tbh, its not that hard.

We just ask for be people to be best they can in gear. So all rep grinds done, all boe/point gear. And BiS enchantes, unless its things like powertorrentt that isn't expected on blues.

Well, people need to be in better gear than blues on any of the non-freekill heroic modes to be honest, Halfus sure you'd get away with a few in blues but not on the more difficult ones ;)

My Guild finally downed Nef after much practise.... (10man normal) Having 2 pallys imo makes healing so much easier. Took ages because ppl kept failing at the p2 transition. People just could not work out how to get on them platforms quick enough /sigh.

But its going well starting on HMs this week see how we cope on that. Then after a couple weeks of HM 10s onto the 25man content. I have to say I have really enjoyed this tier of raiding. The fights imo have been really fun and some nice mechanics in there.

Also anyone been lucky enough to have a Love Rocket drop for them from the V-day daily ? I got a Toxic oozeling so far which sadly I already had from the previous year but dammit I WANT THAT LOVE ROCKET !

Adsta, you'll probably find the heroics easier on 25 man, they are a complete pain on 10 man and you are basically forced into certain setups for certain bosses.

Only 7 bosses have been killed worldwide on heroic on 10 man, which kind of says it all really.

I missed the Cataclysm....

I started playing WoW about a year ago but only got into it for a month. I bought the battle chest(?) which has the original game plus the Burning Crusade expansion.

I'm considering getting into it again but I have a couple of questions maybe you guys can answer.

Obviously after not playing or paying for a year my account is frozen. Would the minimum to start playing again be paying for another month's subscription?

Also, do the changes that came to the game with Cataclysm affect owners of the older stuff, i.e. when I am in the original areas I can be in with just WoW + Burning Crusade, will it look like it used to or also changed by the cataclysm. My current assumption is yes, and that what I wont see is any new classes and new areas that came with Cataclysm, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I just don't want to buy expansions yet and then end up playing only a month because I get bored. Last time I just took 2 characters to levels 13 and 14 :)

You will still be able to see the new classes and the old world is all changed still, you just won't be able to use the new content yourself until you buy cataclysm.

Sounds good. Looks like I'll be paying for a month and giving WoW a go again.

Last time I was still too much into LotRO still, and didn't have time for both.

One more question...how have the specs required to run the game changed? Gone up just a bit or changed drastically? (sorry if thats been asked a million times :) )

gone up a bit, but still runs great on low end hardware, just for max settings nowadays it needs a decent cpu and shadows can really kill performance.

Trolls get a new flight form that looks bad ass.

Time to make me a quick silver alchemist stone.

Edit - Flasks require 4 less herbs now. :D

I'm not seeing anything major with resto druids, and certainly ours hasnt been QQ'ing about anything in patch notes...? If anything you have got a slight buff..

And resto-druids now suck... so much has been taken away! (and i never normally complain about things been taken away, but this bites the biscuit)

Boooo

Where's my ability to break CC 100% of the time? Where's my travel powers? Hmm I don't have one. Druids have always been OP if you ask me.

It's a shame because the shape shifting out of snares and roots and whatnot has been the core of our class since about patch 1.7! But it has been an issue for a long time and one that blizzard has tried to work around in fairness. In a game where the classes have become so similair it probably needed to happen.

Indeed, the shapeshift nerf is only applying to feral and owl at this point though I do feel sorry for the moonkins, pvp is bad enough as it is.

Disentanglement (new passive specialization) is now properly functioning for Restoration druids, allowing them to get out of root effects by using Shapeshift. Logging out or changing zones no longer causes the spell to be unlearned.
