Rift: Planes of Telera Beta

Im considering getting a few copies of Rift in for launch. It comes with a weeks early head start code - How many people would be interested? Price will be about £24.99 (TBC)

If you can get it at that price, I'll buy it the day you get it in.

thats why you should always form your own opinion with first hand experience, the game is fantastic fun.

I've fallen into the MMO trap too many times, I'll wait and see if I can get into the beta, otherwise I'll wait for a trial. :(

I see you in most MMO threads on here, what ones are you actually still playing? :p

hehe yes I'm an MMoholic ! altho there's one MMo thread you will never see me in :p

well, the next stage is Open Beta so you can try it for a 5 days before full release...it feels like Warhammer Mk II with bells and whistles...

Lotro I sort of frequent more to chat with mates, Aion I've not re-subbed but will for 3.0. Rift took me by suprise, wasn't planning on even trying the beta but someone mentioned WAR similarities so I had too !!

Hearing loads of bad things about this game, almost seems doomed before it's even released.

The only "bad things" are the whining WoW fanboys who think every game on the planet copies their mighty MMO. The official Rift forums are full of WoW trolls and theres a fair few in the actual game chat.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with Rift at all. Its not like its a bug infested mess, its actually one of the most polished MMOs ive seen pre release.

Good news.
If anyone except me had doubts that we don't get head start if we buy from steam, we were wrong :)
Just applied cd key from steam to Trion account and it said that I will get head start and VIP beta access :)

Just do what I did, consider MMOs like any other game, not one that you don't want to buy because it won't take away months of your life.

Install it, play 20-100 hours, value for money achieved. Obviously not the value you get from say BC2 or Mass Effect but still a lot of entertainment for the money.

I'd much prefer to give OcUK my money.

does OCUK sell games? and what is the price? only a stubborn fanboy would just shop in "one place" ignoring other places. This goes for everything not just for games.

fair enough if ocuk is the ONLY source to buy a product then yea stick with them but there are loads more places to buy that offer as good if not a better service. Considering OCUK deals mainly with PC components and systems and GAME deals with umm GAMES? why choose ocuk over a retailer that deals primarily with the product you are after?

£24.99 including a week head start code. Obviously free delivery to loyal forum members :)

We have many loyal customers and yes we cherry pick good games for our customers, so some people would choose us over some gamer retail stores.

Ahh ok cool. diddnt know you sell games. when do you ship them? before release date? might order from you guys

We do not do many games, but I am starting to introduce more and of course with great competitive pricing. I will find out today when we are getting these in :) but the week headstart code is awesome. I will put it onto pre-order in a moment

I'm not a fanboy, I'd just rather give me money to a company I actually like, because they look after their customers. I've had first class customer service here for the 4 years I've shopped here, so obviously this is the first place I look for items.

After my 2nd round of beta and getting to the high teens, I am coming round to like this game.

Bah, where did the OCUK pre-order page vanish to?

Theres a 20% off MMO games voucher code floating about on a pay to download website I obviously won't link to, but it makes the collectors edition about 30£ and the normal one £22 I think.
