***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

I think this is the first time since the game came out that this thread has slipped from the first page of the Games and Console section. :p

I wish they'd hurry up and get these new seasonals out soon! :o
 
How the ******* **** do you actually come better than dead last on the Daytona circuit in the Nascar Series on extreme??????????????????? :confused:

I've just tried about 15 times and ALWAYS get bumped from behind after 5-6 laps of trading 1st to 4th depending on slipstreaming and end up dead last with the other cars flying away from me at supersonic speeds for me to finish at least 10 seconds back!?!?!?!?! :mad:

Are there any setup tricks to play about with in the car settings???

I've breezed through every other race in the championship!!!!

i could have sworn PD said seasonal events wont be on forever and will be finished by end of jan?

If so, it seems weird they went to the effort to add a news item to the GT5 dashboard proclaiming an update schedule, and then only have 1 (or 2?) update!!

The one race I just did got me 32kCr and 6k xp. There's a race set for the Ferrari f1 cars. No big hits of money or xp though!

It's set out as ff races, fr races, etc. I wonder if there's a bonus for completing a set.

They said the inflated bonuses would end in Jan which I assumed meant the extra XP/Cr they were given across the board - seems that also applied to seasonals too :(

I still think they need to allow us to set up races and rules earning xp that way instead of having to use the limited races available to level up.

Why not let us select a track, select laps (and bhp limits) and give xp for # of laps and/or winning?

For some reason that race has a retarded rule that if you have ABS on, ASM is forced on and ASM is a [bad thing] which slows you down on the corners (it's a gray light, an ! in a triangle, seriously, a gray light..) so switch ABS off (you don't need brakes on daytona) and it's a breeze.

Has anyone else noticed that PD are using seasonals to force people to buy.. [bad] cars that no one wants? Miata-x5 eunos roadster thingys and lattes.

Gosh darn the OcUK no cussing rules are tough!

edit: PD really need to realise that once you get a good way into the game, the Cr/Exp. of the existing events are paltry. I'm on about 16m Cr but need a 2J a 2D an R8 a 908, a Mk IV and a P4, just off the top of my head, that's like.. 70m?. Now the best Cr/min is the American Cup Indy race, 117k for 5 mins A-Spec or 15 mins B-Spec and it's not exactly fun doing it in A-Spec.

Top man!!!!!! I got the gold in the series by winning the championship but it would have really bugged me if I'd have left that final race without a gold on it!!!!! I'll try it when I get home! :)

Regards the new seasonals, bit disappointed that there isnt higher credits for winning these, I've just to the the £10m mark to get my multi-millionaire trophy but was looking forward to squandering it all to get my penniless trophy (like an idiot, I didnt do this at the start!) but now I feel like I need to keep hold of my money in case I need to buy a specific car!

Also re: the Nascar race, try and get in front then hug the inside line the whole way round. It's the only way to avoid being shoved off the track and the other cars brake so much into the corners that you should still win the race.

Won the Daytona race by a whisker!!!

Although it has to be said, I couldnt take off the ASM even though I turned the ABS off!?!?!?

Anyway, on to the Formula GT races to finish the extreme series!

Pretty sure it says in the description that when ABS is turned off it automatically switches off ASM - I presume that still happens even if the event doesnt let you directly make changes to ASM. Something like that anyway :p

not the first spelling/grammar/factual error in this game by a long shot. The Callaway is a convertible?
I did just notice that 400hp is a recommendation not a limit, accidentally did it in the 205 with 500-ish-hp.
With the paltry 30k(?) prize money I'm wondering if these might be repeatable events?

I don't have an F1 car yet.. *sigh*
I doubt the prize money makes up for the cost of the car?

The BHP suggestion is just that, but stick to it and you'll have some good fun races. I did the FR series in a Z4M Coupe, completely stock on sports hards, made it nice and interesting :D

Anyone want to lend me a Ferrari F1 for the final part of this seasonal? :D
