Test Drive 2 has been released & is available to download on steam

I am not having trouble running it all maxed out. The graphics are rubbish though (especially remembering how great the first looked). It won't detect my wheel either (Logitech Force EX) - so I am stuck with the pad :(

Anyone else having problems with there person automatically walking backwards, whenever I enter a building it just starts moving, and i can only navigate a room by walking backwards............

LOL what about driving, do you have to drive backwards too! joking aside im having problems with the DRM "Securom" why is it when you purchase off steam that you get punished with this cr@ppy securom, no wonder why so many people pirate games, and to add to that you only get "4" thats right 4 activations. which means that if you re-install the games 4 times due to various reasons you have to ask Atairi for a new code what a load of BS!

Why is it that this game runs on the same console hardware as the 2006 original... yet the PC system requirements appear to have shot up in that time. TDU 1 runs great on what is nowadays modest hardware (mine for example) but TDU 2 is more demanding?

I haven't got the game but the graphics don't look to have improved at all, in fact they are possibly worse.

The gfx are a lot better imo. Even on medium settings for gfx settings (all of em) looks great and since medium looks really nice still you get ur fps 40+.

Can you post some screenshots then as the ones I've seen don't look as good as TDU. If you could find a car which is in TDU it would be handy so we could do a comparison.

its a bad port really, though im not sure what the 360 is running? perhaps medium settings oaa? i might try that tonight and see what the fps are.. i have a feeling this game prefers quads over 3.5ghz.....i say quads but im sure it only uses 2 cores at best.

Also the 360 will only be running at 1280x720 of course, which would help the performance if it is GPU limited.

ok I fixed the controlls sort of Inverted right axis seemed to sort this although i can only walk left and right.... o well. Yeah the securom bit does suck but I think in the properties of each game on steam you can "backup" the game so maybe this is how you would get around not uninstalling it.

The game runs really smooth at 1680x1050 all high on my system, although I never bothered to enable AA, I have 16x AF enabled though.

I use an Xbox360 controller, I have sort of got the handling to work better, but it's so unrealistic, it makes Hardcore mode on TDU1 seem realistic. I can go round 90 degree corners at 60mph in TDU2 and 100mph feels like about 30mph it's not nice.

And I find that to drive round TDU1 map I have to get to level 10

Play.com let me down. No TDU2 today which is great seeing as I re-installed Windows 7 yesterday to make sure my PC was running at it's best fully expecting TDU2 to come today but it didn't. Now I have no games to play on a day where I have absolutely nothing to do. If it comes tomorrow I wont have long to play it before I leave and then I wont be back until late on Sunday.

Fantastic.

^they didnt let you down though did they? games not official out till tomorrow. and its PLAY! what do you expect , they have some of he worst delivery services out of all the etailers.

Yep, nothing from Play for me as well.

As soon as anyone gets their copy from Play, please post to let us know if the preorder bonuses were provided with it.

Has anyone actually had an email from play with any codes? I'm pretty sure that they dont usually do that.

Anyone feel like posting some of their screenshots?
I really enjoyed the first one on 360, thinking it would be a crime not to get this one on PC though.

I got my codes yesterday. I was on the TDU2.com forums looking in a thread on there about people who've pre-ordered it from Play.com and someone said they'd got their codes by email so I went to check my emails and my codes had just been emailed to me.

I was a bit unsure as to if that's how I should've received my codes. Was kind of expecting them on a piece of card/paper tucked in with the game manual.

Oh and considering other people got their orders from Play.com a couple of days ago now I would've expected a similar delivery time for me.

Edit:
Looks like all Play.com pre-order codes are being sent by email according to another thread I just found on TDU2.com
