people getting your name wrong....

My mum calls me by my brothers name and my brother by mine. But then I've noticed a lot of parents do this.

I've seen parents of multiple children call a child by all available names, getting to the correct one last.

The gender of the child doesn't seem to have any discernible effect on which names will be tried.

Before now my mum has called me my brothers name, then one of the dogs names (if not both, Bertie and Hugo) and then finally made it to my name :D

I've been called Michael (younger brother, long blonde hair, mines short and brown), Paul (ex-boss, dressed scruffy vs me smart) and Matt (ask Freefaller about this).

My name's Chris.

I don't care what ppl really call me.. could be Susan for a for all I care.. I call every1 a di**he** behind their back anyway.. :D

Some ppl just care too much about their name..

I don't have any problem with my first name but my surname, you can spell it to people and watch them write it down yet they still manage to call me something different. :/

I still find people addressing things to me as Brain.
My co-worker has the same issue. Constantly coming up as "Brain" in emails. I mean, how often does a person use the word "brain" that it becomes habit to type it like that? 'tards. :D

And no, it isn't a spell-checker thing. If it was, they wouldn't have so many other dumb errors in their emails. :)

I introduce myself as Andrew but after people get to know me, that usually changes to Andy.

The few Liverpudlians I know shorten it to And.

Dosnt bother me, being in the forces i get called my my last name most of the time except by my closer mates, dispite it being a very simple name i get all sorts of pronounciations, but i couldnt care less to be honest, as long as i know they are speaking to me i dont mind.

My parents also do this.

Me and my brother get mixed up, and my two sisters get mixed up also.

I think more often than not the younger child gets called the wrong name.

My names David but pretty much resigned to the fact no one will ever call me my first name properly. Its always Dave so much so I end up using it. I might aswell of just been called dave :(
