Which would you rather have?

my first post was on page 2? ;)

So you never read the original post then no?

You obviously read the original post then decided to read others responses aswel as adding in your own stupid response. You couldn't have found it that boring if you managed all that.

If you can't contribute with decent comments, away and play somewhere else. I wont be responding to anymore of your ridiculous comments.:rolleyes:

Hey guys, which would you prefer, a Mac or a PC? Please don't turn this into a Mac vs PC argument.

Also, don't mention games, cos it's not as if people play games or that's a motivating factor for computer purchases or anything.

kthx

:D Made me smile.

OP, you can't exclude people from using it for gaming. That's like saying "Hai guys, which would you rather have , a speedboat or a luxury yacht? But you can't drive the speedboat at over 3 knots".

Angry arsey troll is angry and arsey.

Would take the PC, as I'm nearly done saving up to build one, ordered some components, so I'd get the PC with the components I need for a grand, keep the ones I've got and have a thicker wallet than if i'd of taken the mac, seeing as I'd still of wanted to build a PC!

There are a lot more uses for £1000 worth of computer equipment than playing games. Unlike a speedboat. It is designed for speed, hence "speedboat"

£1000 of computer equipment is always for playing games... your point is not valid, and like I have said to other people... if you struggle to comprehend the concept of the post, then just save yourself the embarrassment and don't post at all.

P.S. if that comment made you smile, you must have a very unsatisfying life.

You post a troll thread on a Friday evening, and I'm the one with an unsatisying life? Get a grip.

There are a lot more uses for a £1000 pc than gaming, but since gaming is the most popular reason for needing a powerful computer there's little point in having an overly powerful computer if you're not going to use it for anything more than browsing the net. Most people would save themselves the money if they didn't need that power, so your "choice" is a somewhat retarded one. That would be why people are repeatedly making the point. You seem incapable of realising this fact and unhappy that people would rather have value for money over a pretty package and OSX.

For what it's worth, I have no difficulty comprehending the concept of the post. I'm just amused at what a rude idiot you come across as when people question your poorly constructed and restrictive scenario. Hey, flame away and make yourself look like more of a muppet.

i dont like the mac interface, or the lack of customisation, plus i pick stuff on style too, but i hate the white look, ive got g15, 2 dell 'U' monitors a haff 922, habu mouse and xbox black controller, i much prefer the black dark look

besides id feel i was following a crowd with the mac and bumming steve, plus id always feel llike i had bought the porsche rather than the nissan gtr

Its like this to me

MAC - Built in a factory

Vs

PC - Built in your shed in the uk

Perhaps your juvenile student mentality perceived it as an argument; however it wasn't intended that way what so ever.

If that wasn't intended to be provocative then you're a moron. Sure, I'm a student. I'm hardly ashamed of it. If you dig through my post history you'll find out I'm reading mechanical engineering. That either implies that I lie freely or that I'm not as thick as you're suggesting.

£1000 of computer equipment is always for playing games...

Uh, what? I've got an i7 920 at 4ghz, with 12gb of ram and two 8800GT's flashed to use quadro drivers. It would be difficult to replace it for £1k. I'm pretty certain I don't use it for playing games. Certainly my choice of graphics cards, processor and ram would be very strange if I did.

Monkey puzzle is one of the brightest people on these boards. Whenever I've asked him a technical question he's provided convincing and useful replies. The nutter has also assembled a computer case from bits of copper which acts as a passive radiator.

One shouldn't feed the trolls, but like all students, I'm drunk. So **** it.

You know it would have been easier to just say what you was gonna use it for, but pc gets my vote since not all Apple OS's are simple to use, the pc will last longer and it will have better program support on average, also Anti-virus usually helps windows :)

Personally, I'd have the PC.

In most cases, I think that if you accepted the Mac, it would be because you require a machine that is powerful enough to perform everyday tasks (the web, playing music & dvds and basic photo editing etc.) and look good while doing it. For around £1000, the iMac offers everything the "guy off the street" needs in one box, and it's pretty easy to use too. Would also go well with the highly popular iPods and iPhones. Some people also say that they "need a Mac", typically graphic designers, however I don't buy that.

The person choosing the PC would probably know that PC's can do everything a Mac can do and more besides (correct me if I'm wrong). The wider variety of software and significantly cheaper hardware upgrades would definitely attract someone a bit more technically minded. Not the "guy off the street" option. In this age it is pretty much impossible not to consider the gaming interests of the recipient. Anyone who games or is interested in doing so will have some knowledge of the requirements of modern games, thus leaning towards the PC for it's superior performance/£. In fact, whether the person games is, in my opinion, the most significant factor to influence this person's choice.

Of course it could just be a case of "I don't like Mac OS" or "PC's are ugly" etc. Such reasons are also fully justifiable.
