Test Drive 2 has been released & is available to download on steam

I turned AA down to 2x, and environment quality down to high, and my vram usage dropped from around 1000 mb to 800 mb, but the game was still stuttery and slow.

Maybe I need to update my GFX drivers.

Game arrived today but still no pre-order codes. :/ Just called up play and the guy put me on hold for a while and said "I'm sorry we don't have your codes yet. You'll have to wait for an email." He couldn't say when the email would arrive.

because they oversold on preorders.... i already contacted atari about it.

ill contact trading standards if i dont get either the dlc codes from play or £8 refunded so i can buy what they have told me i have bought

Yes Update your GFX drivers to the lastest (It the lastest drivers am using using with no shuttering problems)

And after if the game is still shuttering then turn one detail down at a time to min/low setting till you find out which detail setting is causing the shutter.

Environment should be set to medium as thats the most demanding option in the game i found and all it does is increase or decrease the grass and bushes mainly.

I'm hovering around buying this on steam. I loved the first game when I played it on the xbox360. Is this worth buying?
Very much so. If you loved the first one, it's pretty much more of the same. There's just a few issues with it at the moment. I don't have a problem with the graphics, it runs smoothly for me, although I'm not a graphics whore with everything cranked up to high.

@Viper2 I think they underestimated the number of servers they'd need so likely we'll see intermittent issues throughout the next week

Has anyone else had an issue with going from offline to online?

When I first made a profile, the verification code thing wouldn't show, so I created offline, assuming (like every other game ever) that I'd be able to go online later - turns out there doesn't appear to be an option anywhere - so I guess I'd have to make a new profile (which I don't really want to do - already played for 7 hours...). I have an Atari account now, but not the online access...

Any ideas or is it tough **** - start again?

If that's the case then surely they knew how many pre-orders they had and should've overestimated if anything?

Yep, it's tough **** unfortunately. You have to start from scratch again.

I REALLY want to like this game but it just seems soooooo badly put together!!!

I thought, I'm gonna look past the pants handling etc and just try and get into it - trouble is, I am now getting an unknown error and cant get in the game at all!!! There isnt even an option to quit - it just keeps going round in circles back to the start game screen :confused::confused:
The only way to quit (that I can see) is to alt/tab and close it in windows - extremely poor programming!!!!!!

StevieP

the servers are offline, "unknown error" logout!" i feel that nothing has changed in the online mode still crappy muiltplayer with loads of bugs

and that means i cant do none of the missions **** sake bring out a a game which saves in offline mode which can be used online!!!
