Test Drive 2 has been released & is available to download on steam

I bought some better clothes, but the hat and glasses are sucky.

TDU2 = crap in my opinion.

Yea, the free trackmania game is like 10x better than this. Why the heck did I buy it? Oh right, for the pre order stuff that I havnt recieved yet.

If I dont get any codes emailed to me tomorrow, im gonna whinge and whine until its refunded.

Server is down AGAIN! this is getting silly, i cant continue my profile and they said that the issues from TDU1 would not happen in TDU 2. EPIC FAIL

Damn it, 2 hour window to get some cruising in and the server is proper dead, and has been for 90 minutes. Good show. I'd be angry but I expect it from Atari by now. :)

I gave in and bought the game. Its not that bad at all, I'm quite enjoying it. I have everything cranked up to the max (except AA which is at x4) with no framerate issues (with the pc in my sig).

I had to start an offline profile as the servers were down, will I be able to use the same profile online when the servers do decide to come back to life?

the engine physics of this new TDU suck really badly. take the viper for instance, in TDU1 the viper would pull hard from 2000rpm upwards with some serious torque. in TDU2 you got to rev the viper like a civic type R just to make it shift.

same with the vw toureg, 5ltr v10 diesel with like 550ftlb torque at 2000rpm, it dont move at 2000 rpm, you need to take it right up to 4500rpm to make it get anywhere.

when it comes to simulating the engine torque curves the original game was considerably better, and is in my opinion still the best game at simulating engine power/torque delivery. in TDU1 you can actually feel when the turbo charger has kicked in in cars that have a turbo, e.g the xj220, lotus exiege etc etc.

TDU2 = crap in my opinion.

Not to mention how unrealistic the acceleration is, a Range Rover Sport and a V10 Toureg accelerating like a nutter.

How exactly is a free trackmania game better than this? Limited to a small handful of servers.

Quote from GMDestra on the TDU2 forums.
Right now we're not scheduling any maintenance. The servers are currently "up" but there are various issues preventing some PC players from being able to log in. We're still trying to figure out the case, and will be working throughout the weekend to get then resolved ASAP.

So servers are not down, just login problems.

This game is terrible can't believe I bought it. Can't even play now because the servers are down how useless are atari. Never again.

Re the weather not working offline, and not being able to use online profiles offline (and vice versa) - does anyone know whether these are considered bugs which will be fixed in a patch, or are they by design and will never be fixed?

i have to say this is one of the worst games racing games.
you cant use your online profile offline or vise versa, which means you need 2 profiles 1 for online and 1 for offline, when the server is down there is no option to exit, so you have to ctrl-alt-delete, 99% of the time the servers are down. weather effects stays the same almost all the time online, only see 8 players at once.
They released a half completed game, such a shame i had high prospects which failed big time.

Just press press atl+F4 to exit.

I can't even make an offline profile. Just keeps cycling the images of car and landscape.

I really thought they would have learnt from the first game.

I think this game is turning into a perfect example of why pre ordering is a mugs game.

They've got your money before you even have the remotest idea whether the game is any good, it's no wonder they don't seem entirely bothered about actually having made it any good.

The sooner everyone stops throwing money at publishers for games that haven't even been reviewed yet, the sooner they'll have to start actually putting some effort back in to making games that will get a good response.

So true a lot of games are just clones today its a money game instead of a creative one
