Karma ..... What's your view?

Just a massive coincidence. Extremely unlikely things happen all the time, believe it or not. You don't really think that some mysterious deity heard you say that about your car, and because it felt like being a *******, decided to break your car as punishment for your smugness?

There's a statistical chance of someone's car breaking down, that's it. The fact that you spoke of your success with cars earlier on was just coincidence. Spooky, but non-consequential.

Clearly the tone and "!!11" didn't give away the mild sarci ¬_¬

My GF has been going on all night about Karma being all to do about 'feelings' and I've said it's all to do with 'cause and effect' malarky (gimme a break ... I'm trousered ;)).

So to summerise .... What the hell is Karrma

Al ;)

The idea of karma is something invented by man purely as an emotional coping mechanism..

I.e. That's not fair, how can he get away with that..

"what goes around comes around".....

You feel much better thinking that at some point people who do bad things will be punished in one way or another.

Karma is when some guy who regularly beats his wife gets mugged and beaten severely on his way home.

It is not cause and effect because the two incidents are completely unrelated.

"cause and effect" is more like it, it's got nothing to do with feelings at all.

Basically karma, as most people see it, is the belief of what goes around comes around. So, you do something good and something good will happen to you and visa versa.

Yin Yang is probably closer to emotion as this is more to to with inner peace, health and balance.

Karma - I beleive in it with no actual logical reason too, I think it's my 'alternative' too all bull**** religion.

With that said, only with physical actions, I dont beleive thinking bad thoughts will cause you any grief, but acting on them will.

actually amazed, received an infraction for not asterixing the 't'. Jesus.

My definition of it is the one from My name is Earl (loved that show). Yes the show even jokes about how he has mis-understood.

"Do good things, good things happen to you. Do bad things, bad things happen to you."

I would like to belive this is true, but I have yet to see evidence of it personally :(

Nonsense. Karma can't exist, otherwise the concept of choice would have been eradicated from the world by now.

But you asked what it was. It's cause and effect. But your girlfriend is probably right in that it can manifest itself internally. For example, if you cheat on your partner perpetually, eventually down the line you might develop feelings of guilt and also you might become untrusting and suspicious of your other half, perhaps in later relationships.
