***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Just completed the F1 races, that was a good challenge :). I hope they bring some more races out that force you to use a certain car, certainly makes it more challenging.

I'll add rp2000 and send it over now.

Thanks bigjimmyauk for lending it :).

Also I wouldn't worry about the engine etc, its capped at 500,000cr and seems to go to that after just one race anyway. I made the mistake of paying for an engine rebuild on my FGT and after one race it was back at 500,000cr, what a waste!

Just accepted your request (Although you will have to restart GT5 to see me in your GT5 friends list :( ).

Add me to your psn so you can send me the car back my PSN is bigjimmyauk

just send a note with the friends request Saying F1 2007 so i know it's you

Added you, might be tomorrow I return it as the races are not as easy as I thought they would be!! I make too many mistakes and the other cars are less than 2 secs behind me so i lose the lead after 1 mistake :(

... seriously? For an F1 event in a car that costs either 10 or 12.5 million credits and can't be used outside of practice? Wow, PD have hit new lows with that one :o

edit: What about xp though? Was that any better?

120k + credits per race (3 races). Credits was about 30-40k per race (I think).

Bigjimmyauk, just finished all 3 and returned your car (washed, oiled etc).

Hmm, so about 360k xp for the whole thing? Ok, that makes it somewhat more worthwhile then, that amount would get me to level 29 :D Thanks for the info :)

Yeah I managed to mess up on the last corner of the last lap and they all went flying past .

They were like 0.500 or so seconds behind though me as I'm using a pad with the X and square buttons and AT gears :o.

I was 10 seconds+ at the end of each race that was using the pad and not really even being good, i was just plodding round the track.

i thought they were very easy

I kept making mistakes just so they could go past me - under brakes the AI is so conservative its hard not to crash into them, especially with F1 cars (erm soz bigjimmy ;)). Found those races very easy, especially once you get used to F1 cars its quite trance like...

ps3ud0

Runs off to make insurance claim.

It is strangely easy isn't it! I've only done the Nurburg one so far but after some spectacular offs I easily got back into the pack and I think I actually went from around 8th to 1st in the last lap, it was just a matter of remembering not to run into them in corners (dear god the AI sucks on this game)

I actually quite liked running the F1 car in Prologue but this is the first I've got back in it and it is good fun, far nicer to drive than the FGT. Can you at least run the two cars against each other online? Really disappointing there aren't more F1 cars, probably something to do with licensing and the fact that it would be hard for PD to accurately model the differences between cars.

I got the F10 and where is the f-duct button?
No seriously.

Similar thing happened to me, I was doing consistent laps with the AI within 1 second a lap/every lap until around lap 7 when I had a spin and dropped around 5 places. :o
Surely I would need 3 or 4 laps to catch them up? nope, I was back in first by the next lap.

It's probably likely to be the requirements of Ferrari that there can be no direct competition. Lets face it, if PD modelled the Red Bull RB6 then it would have to be faster than the Ferrari and that would not be a good advert for such a recent car from Ferrari would it? (their thinking, not mine)

I think I managed 6+ on the second and last track on the second attempt. Didn't want to keep the car too long as people were waiting for it.

I guess I found the first track harder as i was getting used to the car. Braking too early etc.
