Fashion without looking "common"

I really get annoyed by the people with hate for Cheap clothes, if you can't tell the difference why does it matter what the price is? I can bet that the designer clothes are 90% profit while cheap tat is 90% material 10% profit.

I know you like to think your Primark jeans are as good as £110 nudie jeans, but here's the facts.

Your Primark jeans are not cheap because they're from Primark.

They're cheap because they're ****. They're in Primark because they're ****.

They're made of bad denim, they're badly cut and badly made.

Don't get me wrong, you couldn't pay me enough to have G-STAR RAW DENIM printed on my leg, it's not going to happen. I also wear lots of cheap clothes.

But you pays your money...

On to the OP... shop in smaller shops, shop online, there's plenty of stuff that's either got very little or no branding on it, or has branding on it that's not so common. Get a little more independent, or wear less-known brands. That's it. You don't have to wear Bench or G-Star or Henleys, not all designer labels are in three inch high lettering.

For example, Carhartt make lovely jeans. They're not stupid money and for the most part the branding is a 1 inch square label on the back pocket.

I'm actually getting this south Korean hoodie jacket coat sweatshirt thing.

Unless you're 5'6" and weigh about 120lbs I wouldn't bother, you'll need an XXXXXL.

@ OP: Maybe stuff like TOJ (awesome jackets, but expensive), cheap monday, Dr Denim, Wing & Horn, Uniqlo etc.

Doesn't need to be an M&MDirect special.

Dickies for jeans

Perfect example. Great jeans, look good, properly cut, last for ages. Cheap (for what they are).

OP, get yourself on Threadless, get a few Tees from there, i bet you wont find someone else wearing the same here.

Again, exactly right. Every now and then I get a fairly big order from threadless, I have never run into someone in person wearing any of the Threadless shirts I own, and it's about 20 that I've got.

Careful with sizes, South Korean sizes are stupidly funky

M US XS shoulder-42.5 cm chest-98cm Lenghth-65cm Sleeve-62cm Asian

L US S shoulder-45cm chest-102 cm Lenghth-67cm Sleeve-63cm Asian

XL US M shoulder-45cm chest-106cm Lenghth-68cm Sleeve-64cm Asian

XXL US L shoulder-46.5 cm chest-110cm Lenghth-69cm Sleeve-66cm

Shop online, ASOS is only one site, you'll always find things that appeal to you that aren't what everyone else wears, even by the usual brands.

There's literally hundreds of clothing sites/companies, it's just a case of sifting through what sells a lot to find the odd bits and pieces you find. Alternatively there's sometimes decent little independent clothes shops in town depending where you live.

Add about a size to that in order to get stuff that actually fits someone in this country :D

So... a 44" chest is large over here. It's XXL according to that.

I'm not stupidly big, I'm chubby (large in most things, XL in some), and I'd be hesitant to order an EXTRA EXTRA LARGE sweatshirt from there, the largest that they make, because I might not physically fit into it.

So what are you getting at? The sizes clearly are off-kilter to people that live in the UK.

Honestly I have never had the time to care about what Jeans I am wearing, I just put them on and head out the door.
It might be just me but I cannot for the life of me figure out the difference in look between Cheap Vs Expensive and I doubt the majority of the public will.

It doesn't really matter if the sizes are labelled differently when they give you accurate measurements. It's impossible to gauage clothes by size over here even, I can go from medium to xl depending on the shop/brand. Measurements are much easier.

Carry on then. If you don't care you don't care. But caring about whether or not your trousers are actually nice is not, contrary to OcUK opinion, anything to be ashamed of.

I find it bizarre that if this forum was a person, it would snort with mirth at the concept of spending less than £40 on a bottle of whisky, and then the next moment would laugh at anyone that would spend more than £10 on a pair of trousers!

Yeah but I'm not a huge guy, I'm on the chunky side but by no means enormous, and I might not even fit in their largest size. So what the people quoted said is fair enough... Korean people are small! So if you're biggish over here, you're ****ing enormous over there, so be careful before thinking you should order an L hoody like you would here.
