I wanted so badly to like this, it is a stonker. Asthetics of Hate, Halo, Wolves, they're all mindblowing,...but as an album, argh, I just can't seem to get intimate with it.

I still need to get that album. That's an interesting take on her having more of a defining influence on the 90's than Britpop. Are you American or tend to favour that alternative American scene (hence REM).

Not American in any way I do love Britpop, I was a massive Oasis fan at the time. I just think that Alanis was purely of the 90's, whereas other bands I was a fan of at the time were still releasing material well into the 2000's. Alanis might well have been as well, but I never really heard of it. Perhaps that's why I associate her most strongly with the 90's - a relative failure in the later years.

Definitely Maybe!? It's a fun pop album but the lyrics are hardly ground-breaking .

Well it was, it was the first decent British rock album for years, it defined a generation of wannabe Liam's. Nirvana and the grunge scene it was it was all about and then Oasis released that.

So in short, you're wrong.

I very nearly went for Gish, as it hits all my spots as a drummer / air-guitarist

F#A# (infinity) and Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada are way better.

I prefer that one as F#A# is much shorter on vinyl. The Sad Mafioso is defiantly my favourite movement along with Moya. I've mainly been listening to their live tours recently.
