Chris Harris Slaps Ferrari on Jalopnik

i'd heard this sort of stuff went on, but not to this extent !

Amazing reading.

Wonder how much flack he got for the GT3 RS vs 458 video where they used a customer 458. And even more annoying for them, the GT3 RS won evo's car of the year ahead of the 458.
 
Interesting read, I find it hard to believe that Ferrari are the only manufacturer who does this, but they might well be the worst. They have a massive reputation to uphold, in many ways that makes a lot more money for them than selling cars ever has.

Look at the Ferrari F1 team though - they're also very secretive and, in all fairness here, often borderline unsportsmanlike in their conduct and desire to win. It's these games that I think Mr Harris is saying he's fed up of. Ferrari are protecting their interests somewhat over-zealously.

The other saddening point he brings up is that they don't need to. Their cars are good enough on merit.
 
Just WOW, I had no idea they went to such efforts to control the media!

The lengths they've gone to are quite frankly staggering, seems to have been happening for a long time too, fair play to Chris Harris! I only have more respect for the man now.

Despite my surprise I suppose I shouldn't be too shocked given their F1 antics. :p
 
TVR were notorious for giving press cars rather good engines and diffs... They didn't think about going to tracks... too much effort :P
 
I saw the same at the ring when a 458 turned up and was tested by horst von saurma, a car followed by 2x vans into the carpark and lots of playing around was done before the car was fired up again (a lot more than just checking fluids and tyre pressures etc) and given to drive on the track.
 
May get flamed for saying this but when reading this you have to bear in mind its more biased than a two ass'd monkey

Also as for his MX-5 comments, it may be a very overrated car (imo it wasn't the second coming of Jesus most claim, merely a decent car that filled the void left by the spitfire) however its still bloody good. Guns n Roses and Duke Nukem may not live up to the hype of gods of the universe but their still awesome.

Biased towards what? Not liking Ferrari? I think he has laid out a pretty good case to be ****** off with them.

he is being controversial for the sake of being controversial . it wouldnt of been a story if he said they sometimes do it or that they do it a little bit

im never believing that 2 seconds statistic

believing every single thing he says is the same as believing everything ferrari says

1000s of journos must have seen this happen to 100s of cars if he speaks the full truth...
