The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

What alternatives are there to the blade? Battery life is doing my head in. If you don't use it, its fine but that negates any point in having a smart phone.

Hey I have jellyfish 7 or 9 =S!
Finding things pretty slow in game, what's my best option?
Also wouldn't mind a less cluttered number of apps in menu
cheers

7 or 9? Just get 9 and stick with it.
What games? Its not exactly the most powerful phone. Try some over-clocking maybe? Look at setcpu. Works well with Jellyfish

You can create groups in the app menu. Just press the menu button.

Still though, JJ9 is a beast of a custom rom for me :)

Ya, ill see how the development goes. But JJ9 is rock solid for me, so have to reason to change, yet ;)

Ah cheers, menu system on this is way more complex than my old SE
Was playing tap defence and later levels get really slow to the point towers didn't fire =(
Ill give overclocking a go!
thanks very much

FLB works with the OC kernel now too.

What about an iPhone 3GS? Seriously considering making the jump

im sure the OSF has a bigger resolution than the 3gs, and with the android 2.2 custom roms, ocin and the up coming 2.3 custom roms later, i would say it would be a good switch, and just sell your 3gs on the bay and use a fraction of that money you got to buy this phone, and then just get a £140 tablet as well :)

Dont have to get a tablet, just save the rest of that money :)

I love my iPhone but I've been experiencing issues lately such as dropped calls poor call quality and on longer calls the phone hard resetting itself.

If the OSF works aswell as my 3GS with regards to screen responsiveness scrolling etc then I will gladly move over to the OSF until my upgrade is due in May

It is my first capacitive touchscreen device, and i think its fantastic, crisp movements, and if you get your overclock to the right amount which is balanced for battery life and speed, then this phone is brill :).

Had mine a week gone wednesday and ive charged it around 4-5 times from like 5% battery left, so all in all it is quite good, but thats with a constant overclock, as i felt reducing the clock to 245mhz whilst it was sleeping, was getting on my nerves.

One thing is if you want to constantly sync your data with your google account, i would suggest trying to disable the sleep function of this phone, as my wifi is always cutting out when the phone sleeps, so i dont get updates when im not using it, which is quite annoying.

One thing is the camera is quite shoddy, doesnt like bright light and doesnt have a flash to make its own light in the dark, but you cant complain for a sub £100 phone :). The brightness and the quality of the screen are superb, but if you were to invest in one of these until your next upgrade, then maybe you could get a jelly case for it, i did and i love it :). But maybe it wouldnt be worthwhile since it will only be used for a few months? i dunno :)

3gs is 320x480 and the SF is 480x800...

Nipping into Phones 4 U today at dinner, I think they have a HTC Desire for £250 on PAYG. If so, think it's time to upgrade and get rid of my San Fran.
