FA Cup 5th Round Draw

Saw Sheffield Utd were in the relegation zone though, thats always good news?

My dads a West Ham supporter, so I have a soft spot for them and Sheffield Utd screwed them, on top of employing the likes of Chris Morgan

On the subject of laughing at Benitez again, Inter when he was fired were 13 points behind having played an extra game, as of tonight Inter are 2 points behind still having played a game extra. In under two months he's gained 11 points on the leaders while Benitez was going the opposite way. 9 wins, 2 losses, pretty awesome record.

TBH, it's stopped cheering me up. There's only so much laughing you can do at Sheffield United and given our position and form I'm not really in the mood to laugh at them. If they go down, and we manage to stay up it will be an amazing season with the Steel City Derby back

Inter's turn around has been nothing short of spectacular, mind, I'm not sure where it went wrong for Rafa. I rated him as a manager, well no, I rated him as a tactician he seemed very much a student of the game.

Someone needs to add a handbag to Cole when he turns around in that gif :D

They need to draw a **** on him as well.

Yes you are.
I do?

Well i am not so i can't.

Really?
Right ok then. I am not ;)

If you dont want to banded a troll dont post replies like that dumb ass :p

Regarding today's game it was a shocker, simple as. Obertan & Bebe simply aren't top level footballers, with Bebe I'd say given the performances he's delivered thus far he'd struggle to get in the Crawley side let alone the Utd one. Obertan might look handy playing week in week out in the Championship but he's never a Premiership footballer

I dont usually criticise SAF but you do wonder how did he get some of his bad signings just so wrong, Bellion, Miller, Djemba-Djemba are previous United players yet today where are any of them? I think Bellion is still playing in France somewhere, Miller is at some Scottish mid table club and Djemba-Djemba is in Qatar I think :o

To be fair guys SAF knew well before kickoff that Chelsea were out, so Utd now have four tough away games in a row (Marseille, Wigan, Chelsea & Liverpool) - Admittedly Wigan shouldnt be tough but with our away form its likely to be, therefore we probably couldnt have risked different players.

Saying that - Utd played ********** terrible (and no discredit to Crawley who challanged for every ball and were up for it for the whole 90+ mins), but the looping header right near the end was the only thing that came close to challanging Lindegaard.

Bebe and Obertan were pretty terrible, Gibson controlled the match.....for about 5 minutes around the time of the goal - but otherwise was **** (was a good cross for the goal, and he gave Chicarito a great pass which should have been No 2 but got stuck under his feet).

Hernandez tried hard but was otherwise going everywhere he shouldnt really need to to just get the ball, Rafael and Fabio played ok but were pretty restricted by how **** those just ahead of them where

Good goal by Brown - thought it came off the top of his shoulder more than a header, but it was still a good one. Ref was a bit weak both ways but nothing major that I saw (little things here and there, like there was a foul on a Utd player in the box in the first half - but wasnt given ...commentary even picked it out)

Hoopefully we can get a EPL side next to put out a decent side - otherwise we will go out in the 1/4's lol

(At least we didnt go out as early as Chelsea lol - well chuffed for Everton)

Speculate to accumalate.

All clubs do it - some maybe more successful at that than others, at the end of the day very few clubs can afford to spend £20m+ on every player so sometimes you have to go through a few young duffs to find the odd gem. Bellion and Miller looked decent for other clubs in the UK before coming to Utd but couldnt handle the pressure of OT , D-D wasnt very good but was probably at the same kind of ability /level as Smalling was @Fulham , just couldnt push on more). Occasionally scouts find gems like Evra and Vidic for £6m a pop (or thereabouts) but thats always going to be a rarity.

I dont like it at all (the manner in which its done these days by most clubs) but best chance these days is getting a kid out of nowhere and allowing him to grow within the club

So can I have an apology from everyone who has layed into me when i have said just what a **** poor selection of players ferguson has got us lumbered with.
All you Fergie apologist blow hards saying he knows what he is doing, really?
Gibson,Evans, Obertan, Bebe, o'Shea, Carrick......

What the **** has he been playing at? How are other teams able to find competant quality players for a couple of million and the best he can come up with is that selection of crap. He needs to sack his scouts, his youth team coach his reserve team coach and take a long hard look at himself as well.

We almost got beat near the end. What ever strat SAF put out, it wasn't good enough. We got lucky to not conceed near the end.

The Crawley players wouldn't even make the reserve team for man utd but some how managed to almost beat us. wtf.

GN has only just taken over the reseerves in the last week or so (surely you HAVE to know that being a fan) so that would be a bit harsh

Look at it another way - he rested majority of the 1st team (and gave a run out to those that needed it), he gave the youngsters a run out, he won the game and hopefully no major injuries (Rafael and Anderson are probably the biggest concern, Rafael I think it was just due to the concussion that happened recently but not sure about Ando)

Majorly important run of 4 away games coming up (all far more important than the FA Cup tie - however nice it would be to win it again after so long not doing so)

It wasnt that bad - we were nowhere near getting beaten (although it could easily have been a draw at the end)

but we only managed one goal and it wasn't even that convincing of a goal. You'd expect UTD, B team or not to destroy a team like Crawley Town. Something is terribly wrong when we have to scruff a win.

Frank resting the first team players isnt a problem, its whats behind them, and whats behind them other than Hernandez and Smalling is utter rubbish.

In fact, I would suggest that Rafeal, Hernandez, Carrick, O'shea. Fabio and Lindergaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard are not reserve players anyway but a mix of first team and regular subs.

Its the second biggest club in the world Vs crawley town, our tea ladies should have been able to put 8 or 9 past them with ease, let alone any 11 players from the club.

The same ones that found Beckham, Giggs, Scholes and Neville. The same ones that moulded C.Ronaldo, Rooney and Nani?
You need to take a look at yourself imo if you really think that.

But how many years has it been now since United have had someone come through who is as important as Beckham, Gigs, Scholes and Neville were in their prime? Ronaldo was probably the last and he wanted to go anyway, maybe Nani, Rooney has been very average in his performances for a very long time. But he scored an overhead kick so that means he's back and in amazing form... :p

I think atpbx is more of the view "you're only as good as your last game" although perhaps to be fairer it's more about how much they've done in uncovering talent for the past few years. With that said we don't know what talent they've identified and potentially had their opinions ignored about - the failure could be at any level of the chain.

A very long time does just mean this season doesn't it? He managed a goal in ~75% of his games last season didn't he?

I'm not disputing his record last season, but this season he's been dire. They have 12 league games left to play, so with two thirds of the season gone I'd class that as a long time.

I suppose so, but then you have to look at the other clubs and look at who they have brought through. Arsenal have brought through Wilshere, Chelsea have brought nobody, Liverpool no one apart from possibly Kelly, City have not brought through anyone for a while..the last ones being Richards, Johnson and Onouha.

Ronaldo became who he is because of the coaches at utd. Nani could become one of the best in the world although he may be a little late. Rooney hasn't been on form for a long time i know but there is no doubting that he is a good player..as seen in 2009-10.

I just think its a bit harsh to say everyone at utd should be sacked because they have no good youngsters even though no one else has really brought anyone through recently.
