FA Cup 5th Round Draw

but we only managed one goal and it wasn't even that convincing of a goal. You'd expect UTD, B team or not to destroy a team like Crawley Town. Something is terribly wrong when we have to scruff a win.

This kind of thing always happens when you put 11 players on the pitch that dont regularly play (together) - in live matches.

Bebe and Obertan's touch were plainly awful, and it seemed as though Anderson had an issue right from the off (at least he lasted til 1/2 time, Im not sure his sub was totally tactical) - apart from 5 minutes where he was decent-ish Gibson was dreadful losing control / possession nearly every pass that went his way - which is why Hernandez ended up going wide most of the match to try and get some touches on the ball

OShea and Brown are ok-ish players (very decent cross and header for the goal) but as a centre-back pairing are pretty rubbish

That leaves Fabio & Rafael (who Ive already credited as playing well) arent fully match fit for one reason or another, and relatively inexperienced (esp Fabio), and Carrick of the outfiield players that might have been worth the place had more experienced players (or worthwhile lol) been around them.

Real pity that King & Pogba didnt get a chance to come on as they look/sound promising - but Im also glad they didnt in a way (being surrounded by garbage isnt a good start even if its a win)

edit - Quiroz has a bit to blame for the Bebe fiasco if you ask me (I read a few months ago he had recommended another non-entity from Portugal for Utd to sign) - think he has his own agenda and it shouldnt be trusted (he did brilliant work for the club, but this takes away the good things he did for the club imo)

When Bebe wouldnt even be good enough for the opposition team (93 league positions lower than Utd or whatever it was) - there is something really wrong with the recommendation

I suppose so, but then you have to look at the other clubs and look at who they have brought through. Arsenal have brought through Wilshere, Chelsea have brought nobody, Liverpool no one apart from possibly Kelly, City have not brought through anyone for a while..the last ones being Richards, Johnson and Onouha.

Not sure if I'd agree with you when you say Arsenal have only brought through Wilshere. The only player who started against Barcelona that was over 21 when he signed for Arsenal was Koscielny at 24 (25 now). While the starting 11 may not all be "youth products" they were all formed at Arsenal.

I thought Ando played really well, rarely misplaced a pass. It's just when you're playing alongside Carrick and Gibson who barely move, don't support the attack and don't close down attackers you have to work very hard.

The same ones that found Beckham, Giggs, Scholes and Neville. The same ones that moulded C.Ronaldo, Rooney and Nani?
You need to take a look at yourself imo if you really think that.

The Guy who brought through Beckham Scholes and Giggs?

That guy?

Yeah he works for City.

The Guy that was responsible for Ronaldo, Nani and Anderson?

That guy?

Yeah he is the Portuguese national coach now.

Carlos Vela just equalised for W Brom. Perhaps with one goal, he could transfer his form back to Arsenal at some point.

Henri Lansbury scored yesterday for Norwich.

I think atpbx is more of the view "you're only as good as your last game" although perhaps to be fairer it's more about how much they've done in uncovering talent for the past few years. With that said we don't know what talent they've identified and potentially had their opinions ignored about - the failure could be at any level of the chain.

Absolutely not, its been aparent from the day dot that Obertan, Gibson and Bebe are extremely poor players and have never had a good game.
Its been evident for 2 season in Carricks case and nearly 4 in O'shea that they simply are not doing it anymore, Evans performances when he first started were ok, we were prepared to over look the odd mistake, but now its clear he cant handle physical players, his positioning is terrible, he lacks pace and has little skill on the ball, the fact he might have one game game in 10 isnt enough.
I dont expect a constant stream of quality players being turned out, just............. some.

Perhaps he could:p...am hoping that this loan spell does wonders for Vela like it did for Wilshere when he was at Bolton last season...look at him now, absolutely immense for us this season...id go as far to say that hes probably one if not our most important player this season.

If that hadn't had hit Richards it probably would have gone in!! Bloody hell Man City look like they have never played together before!
