***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Sorry if its alreay been asked & answered but whats the "PP" figure that fades in and out (very annoyingly!) when you are upgrading parts on your motor??

Cheers,

StevieP

It's called performance points

it's there to help make online races fairer, they really should have introduced that when they bought out the seasonals with BHP limits

you do know you can now reduce any cars BHP by 50% just goto the tuning menu and select engine and you's see a power limiter check box.

you can also add weight to a car and place it from front to rear.

i was driving around in a 700bhp x2010 might good fun and topped out at 220mph

Guys I keep getting an error code come up after trying to install the GT5 update (haven't turned the PS3 on for a week or so).

"80029564" if that makes any sense.

GT5 is for men who know cars, know racing and push it to the limit.
Forza is for boys who like to put stickers on their Saxos and think doing donuts in the Tescos carpark is racing.
:D

After the download or during it?
If it's during it could be a connection problem, particularly on wi-fi.

I am looking to purchase forza motorsport 3 or GT5.
which is the better game for racing, physics and gameplay?
Thanks.

Both are different enough to enjoy in their own ways, GT5 now is a much better product then at release so reviews dont tell the true story. Perhaps get GT5 and then Forza 4 when it comes out november time?

During the download, I will try doing it over a wired connection and see what happens.

I had a mk1 micra for my first car, despite its knackered clutch, exhaust so rusted it eventually snapped off at the manifold, slightly tired dampers and slow puncture on one tire, it was a laugh on the twisties. Finding the torque band was really rewarding. Not that I ever redlined it.. no rev counter = no red line
:D

FM3 Ultimate edition can be had for £6.99 brand new.

It's a tough choice.

If you have a decent wheel then you will get some great driving experiences from GT5. The GFX can be amazing at times. Its just the menu system and structure that feels really clunky.

FM3's incar experience is not as immersive as GT5. But you do get quite a bit of content for your money. 1000's of amazing paint jobs and tunes for your car already and great customizing options.

You could get a lot of time out of FM3 for £7.

By the time you get bored (and it can get boring quickly), GT5 might have been patched again and some of its flaws improved.

4 hours? pfft, that's nothing!. 15 hours into 24 hours of LeMans and I want to tear my eyes out!

I'm glad I know loads of car geeks, I'm trying to work out how to set up some sort of Le Mans party and make them all drive it for me over 24 straight hours, proper style :D I'm so lame

I'm doing it biteback style. I did a few laps before almost falling asleep with the controller in my hand, left the game running over night. I get up 7 hours later and I'm 107 laps behind. 7 and a half hours on in the race and I'm now 52 laps behind.

Still got a long way to go :(

I think i'm going to make B spec char tomorrow have not tried the mode, but I read up on sounds interesting but not sure how long it would keep me interested
