OK i need to reformat, so im just asking what the standard advise is on SSD's, just format the drive, let windows do its thing?

do i bother with the intel drivers or leave the windows7 ones? also any other tips or advise, i know back when i got this a year ago there were lots of tweaks that people had different views on, anything changed? any 'must do's' ?

I'd go with a quick format and make sure you have the latest Intel firmware installed. I've used the standard drivers provided by Windows 7. Once the OS is installed I run the Intel software (can't remember the name) and it optimises the OS for the driver. Seems to work fine for me.

Don't format your SSD. Use HDD Erase and follow the guide here. The steps you want to perform after doing the reinstall are disable hibernation if you don't use it, disable Windows search indexing, drive indexing and don't forget to run the Windows experience index assessment too (disables Disk Defrag and SuperFetch).

I would do it this way (1st option) if I had an intel drive, seems they are a lot more simplistic and user friendly when comparing to the OCZ drives for a re-install.

Although if the drive is not performing as so, then go with the secure erase guide, remember there are Live CD alternatives to using commands if you preferred to by booting into a Linux Operating System, I would personally choose Parted Magic as it also offers a full range of further features.
