Films you would like remade?

I really can't think of many remakes that should have been made. In fact most just were depressing to watch .....

The Italian Job.
Psycho.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Planet of the Apes

I could go on - but there's so many - In fact less than 5% of remakes I think were worth it.

As for remaking the original Star Wars movies - I doubt anyone would dare, as nothing could compare to them even if the CGI gets even better in 3D... and no one would be able to make them work as well as they did.

Re-mastered.... yes definately. As was shown recently with Blade Runner on Blu-Ray.

Plus also, remastering aside sometimes classics should just be left the way they are. I'm not a huge fan of black and white films but one that's just utterly brilliant is 12 Angry Men. I wouldn't want that redone because I imagine whoever the cast is they'd get it wrong.

I really hope no one even considers this as a suitable film for a remake as I'll have to hunt them down like the dog they are. It's as good as it can possibly be, there's absolutely nothing that could or should be changed about it so what would be the point in a remake?

As you say though it depends on remastering or remade as they're vastly different things. I don't think 12 Angry Men needs remastered even as any imperfections in the transfer simply add to the charm for me but I could potentially see some sort of point in that.

Generally originals tend to micturate on any remake from a great height, the number of good remakes is vanishingly small and most of them still fall into the category of "didn't really need to be done". However if we're talking about remaking rubbish films that had a bit of potential but were poorly executed then just look to almost any horror film in the past 20 or so years - Jeepers Creepers for example had the makings of a decent suspenseful film right up to the point where they showed the monster. Of course some films are just beyond hope without being completely re-written e.g. Cabin Fever.

Well they've buggered that up, reducing the age to 21?

How old are the sandmen then?

the original age of 30 was just fine.
Perhaps they are making it closer to the book rather than a remake of the film, this would explain the age 21. Though they haven't thought it through if imdb is to be believed. Ryan Gosling as Logan, isn't he about 10 years too old (and looks it).

I must be getting old as I don't consider Raiders of the Lost Ark or Mad Max old films :(

Remakes of classics tend to be inferior so I'd like to see remakes of **** films.

Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith

All done with new scripts that have no involvement by George Lucas.

Was just going to post the exact same thing.

I'm hoping I have another 40 years to live. Maybe I will see it happen.

None, there are far too many great books out there begging to be made into films that we don't need no steeeeenkin remakes.
