Ok, What is THE moment in your game-playing history that stands out for being the most epic, emotional, awesome, shocking, or whatever.

basically your most memorable moment for whatever reason.

There are loads to choose from, but for me, it's Mass Effect, the bit where you had to choose who to save on Virmire

You hear the pilot talking over the com, and then the camera pans out and the conversation wheel appears and you have to make the choice. It was such an epic moment, brilliantly executed. i must have been on that same screen for about 1/2 hour deciding:)

Lets hear 'em...

Not console as such but The first time you reach Wan Chai market in Deus Ex. Never played another 'level' like that in a game.

More recently that bit in Halo where you pick up the helmet and watch the video playback, that is how to do a cutscene.

Oh and the bit in the Darkness where you watch Jenny die. God damn that was powerful writing, still can't believe it happened.

played all halo's and can't immediately think of the bit you mean( i'm tired)
possibly the end of Reach, which i would agree with, but sounds like a bit form ODST, which i thought was incredibly well written and directed all the way through

First Halo, just before the Flood are revealed for the first time.

Hmm it's difficult to say, so many awesome moments in the games I've played - Diablo 2, Titan Quest, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, The Witcher, Far Cry 2, Crysis, etc..

Mafia II will definitely contribute, amazing moments in that :D

RDR is an incredibly well made game. It really took me by suprise how well written and well structured the game was. There were some very emotional moments in it for sure, but they were stretched out over such a long time, that some of them lost their resonance for me.

there's only so long you can sustain that atmosphere, and the game is so long, with different parts, that i was playing for a few days on/off and it did drag a bit at the end i felt. But the ending is excellent

I dont remember anything from RDR :(

Guess moments in games dont really stick out for me, either that or I've a mind like a sieve :o

Mario Kart 64 4 player, never had so much fun on a game with 4 people.

Opening level of Goldeneye

Must admit, when I was a kid, nothing better then walking into a high street gaming shop and seeing the first demo units and waiting to get a go on them, From the NES up and till to N64 after that I was a lot older and never bothered with going trying them out, being a kid and going into town on the bus with mates and just spending time on them, now shops are soulless places, went into a shop this year and they had a 360 turned off turned it on, could see the plug and it was turned off at the wall and played it with my niece who is 5 for a good 10 mins and some security guy came over and said it was turned off for a reason got the huff and told me to leave with her, everything worked fine and I had been in the shop before and it was always on.
