All young drivers post your insurance prices here !!!

Ive not got my own car as of yet, but I'm ringing the insurance today to find out how much it would be for this which I'm thinking of buying..

Any ideas? I'm 24, 25 in august, and I've had a clean license for almost 2 years, just haven't been able to afford my own car til now lol.

For real?

Well I'd get something else with that much money. £4.5k could get you, if you're lucky a nice EK9 Type-R. But with this being your first car, get something a bit smaller and better for the money. Insurance will be silly on that after declaring mods, taking postcode into consideration, plus you don't have any NCB's.

If you can afford to run and maintain it, then yeah, would make a good sleeper. Otherwise look around for some cheaper alternative.

Somebody needs to drop the whole car.

Off a cliff.

It's not that bad. Returning the car to the factory look, but leaving the suspensions/engine, maybe changing the wheels to something better would be ok. And taking the spoiler off the back.

Asking over £5k for that is just stupid. Since you can buy a UK Spec Type-R for £4k?

Ok cheers guys that's all I needed to know :p I just know the guy selling it is all. and I have been in it and it seemed pretty cool. but if you think its a bad decision then I think ill go back to the drawing board :)

It is. Seriously if you want a Type-R buy a EP3. But as a first car it would be unadvisable. Your money so your call.

Oh and they drink petrol like nothing. When you'll experience the VTEC you'll always want to be in it.

Why not get a Fiesta ST? Little sporty hatch and once you've gained the driving experience move onto something a bit more powerful?

It looks like a 700 quid car.

Looks more like £600. But since it has K20A2 drop that's why it's priced a lot more. It's just JDM Status points, and sleeper points. Even though it doesn't look much like a sleeper with the wheels/spoiler/stickers.

JDM Status points, I thought that was a UK Civic

Read 'br0, JDM ECU and Red Recaros, plus the engine conversion, even though it isn't a K20a engine. It's a a2 so 200bhp, instead of the 212 from the JDM. Least to say they have modified it for 230bhp.

Oh and the Project D alloys, pr0per JDM 'tyte.

I did. Taking a UK car and putting a new ECU and an engine in it doesnt stop it being a UK car.

The whole JDM thing is a bit ridiculous really.

And this is why the car is ridculous.;)

Not young but only started driving last year, i'm 32 next month. I have a 1.2 1999 Corsa B, I pay £1300/year for 3rd Party F&T, this was the absolute cheapest quote I could get, spent about 4 days using websites, phoning around, comparison sites. Worst thing is i'm expecting a rise this year when I renew due to all the reports i'm getting of insurance going up across the nation.
