Asking someone out over facebook...

Might I suggest a moment's silence for the lost art of conversation?

You will be dearly missed, old friend. :(

Now listen here dinosaur, technology puts people in touch. The conversation part of it comes once they meet up. Nowhere did he mention conductring an entire relationship on facebook :p.

Tips:

1.If doing via message make sure its private and not up on her public wall for all to redicule.

2. Can't you add her to facebook chat and catch her online and chat to her? Much better done this way after a bit of banter.

And nowadays using FB is acceptable for dates to the younger generation. Far better than having some 41 year old bunny boiler text you suggestively as to what she wants to do to you and includes pictures

Can you not just say:

Hi <insert name here>. Sorry to message you on Facebook, I forgot to get the number from you last time I saw you. Just wondering if you would like to meet up for a coffee at some point and catch up and get to know each other bit more?

My number is <insert number here> feel free to text me your number to arrange when you are free, or have a chat sometime.

Hope to hear from you soon. x

What is so creepy about that?

1. Don't apologise about messaging her on facebook.
2. Ditch the 'get to know each other bit more'. Sounds lame.
3. Ditch the 'hope'. You KNOW you'll hear from her soon, otherwise she must be a dyke :p.

Hi sexmuffin,

I was watching you with my binoculars outside your house last night and fapped uncontrollably over you for three minutes.

Anyway, I thought I'd let you know that if I find you alone at night I will definitely rape you and do all sorts of nasty things to you!

Sex soon!

And how do you translate this offer I got?

"Well, this is what you are missing out on (see attached pics of her wearing school uniform with holdups and no underwear). Your loss. You could have had this on a plate." lol

Yeah, but wasn't she the one who was/is a total lunatic? She'd probably bite your head off after smashing it! ;)

No, I read the whole the post. It's not as if you never see her. After reading the replies in this thread though, I agree that it would probably be easier to ask for her number next time you see her.

And as if by magic I saw her today.:p...

Unfortunately we were surrounded by people so I wasn't going to ask her out there and then...:/

Hopefully I'll catch her when it's a bit more "personal".

TBH yep, when it comes to the line between heavy flirting and actually going for it I have great trouble jumping over it.:p

the risk you run with facepest is that the person can think about it.

sometimes the impulsive response is a more honest one.

you know the look when you ask them and they look at you like oh **** wtf do i do here, thats teh answer right there they don't need to make up any excuses or break it to you nicely.

Facebook will get a softly softly response imo, sometimes even a misleading one providing false hope

but from experience do something doing nothing will never help.

And this is exactly why I don't like facebook and text for important conversations. No proper reactions...:)

Man up, ask her if she's got a minute, take her to one side and ask her out. Then go back to the group, regardless of what she says.

Oh God. You're going to ask her out on bookface, aren't you? :(

e : when you inevitably do ask her out in the manner of a 12 year old, she'll now be wondering why you didn't ask her when you actually met in real life.

I did that last time, didn't see her for 2 months (the other night)... :p

Woman like the chase.

Appearing so desperate to ask her out that you have to absa-pos-a-lutely have to do it right this minute on facebook because you can't wait till you next see her will make you come across as desperate

don't do it.

Nah, that pretty much destroyed any thought of doing it on facebook for a little while, as you say, very odd if I can do it in person. ;)
