So this is my website - http://www.remotecomputerrepair.co.uk/. The design is a free template I found but all of the content was written by me and the testimonials are all mine.

It appears someone has cloned my site at:
http://r*motelyrepair.com/ - replace * with an "e"
http://www.s*ahavencomputers.co.uk/RemoteSupport/ - replace * with an "e"

They've even kept the testimonials!

Now after some investigating I've found the owners name, address, twitter/youtube account, ebay account and several other bits of into

Having spoken to the owner through the websites free chat feature (also stolen from my site

), I have told him to remove the content by the end of the day. He basically said he wasn't going to take it down. He won't answer his mobile or phone.

I've tried contacting his hosting company to get it removed but their phone number doesn't go anywhere.

What other options do I have?

i am sure u have a case with the testimonials if they are related to ur company and not his as he doesn't have permission from them to use their words here as you will have

He's even copied the url for your remote software.

I'd change that straight away at least that wont download if anyone clicks the link.

How come your website is for sale? I wish I had known about this website like a few weeks back, could have possibly saved my old hdd from dying, never mind.

Very annoying but in reality I don't think there's much you can do about it sadly. You could go to the trouble & expense of getting legal advice but it's proably not worth it.

Also off topic, but why are the smilies in your post hosted offsite?

Those smilies are also quite ugly. :p

A friend of mine regularly has his site copied. The best way to take it down is to email the domain owners hosting company and inform them of the duplicate sites infringement on your site design, trademark and testimonials, and that if the site isn't taken down immediately you will be forced to pursue legal assistance in the matter. Usually works pretty quickly.

I've seen quite a few design rips in my time, but that's ridiculous. As you say it's word for word, bar the phone number.

Seahaven have used the image of the same woman from TSOHost too, I'm sure it's just a stock photo but a bit of a coincidence.

you can also email google and they will remove them from there listeings so the copyed content wont mess up your ranking...

I had my whole site copyed once and was hell getting them to remove it.

The first site has changed theirs now.

First try to email them directly, failing that send a DMCA notice to their host.

I've emailed and phoned with no response. I've also spoken to the guy through the live chat on his website but he seems unwilling shall we say :p

We don't really get much time to concentrate on it, hence selling it.

Unlikely we'd have stopped your old hdd from dying though :p

Just had a phone call from a chap who didn't know his full postcode as he'd "just moved into the area" and wanted us to come and look at his internet which wasn't working properly. Oh and he didn't know his phone number.

Due to our VOIP system, the number always appears as international. But once the call ends, I can see the callers number in the call list...Namely 0*411827199.

The phone call seemed odd, so after googling 0*411827199 I find gumtree adverts with that phone number in. The phone number belongs to a Daniel in Brighton. That's funny, considering the guy who cloned my website was called Daniel Crawley and he lives in Seahaven, Brighton :D The guy clearly isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

He's obviously feeling a bit hard done by that he's not allowed to copy someone elses work. Not being able to come up with anything original himself, he's frustrated to the point of wanting to try and get his own back. Lol, just lol.
