I've just booked a room at a premier inn in Portsmouth. Although the hotel states that wifi is available, it doesn't say whether its free or how much it costs.

Anyone used the wifi at a premier inn hotel before?

Not much help, but I just booked a room at a Travelodge in London and Wifi was £10 for 24 hours, or £5 for 60 minutes.

Been in a fair few hotels that have had free wifi, however a premier inn isn't one of them.

As said it's about a tenner for 24 hours.

WiFi charges at uk hotels are truly ridiculous and the premier inn is no different its a profiteering scam just like the breakfasts. Was amazing to have free access in Vietnam and Cambodia in every hotel last summer.

Agreed. Best thing to do is get a decent phone and buy a 3G sim card then turn the phone into a router.

If you only want it for a bit, you can get half an hour (or 20 mins, I forget) for free (a sort of trial thing). Should be enough time for most hotel-based web browsing activities that I can think of.
