Anyone else getting this?

You will no longer be able to sign in to YouTube without a Google Account.
If you do not want to link this YouTube account, you can sign out here.

Google are starting to get annoying!! Apologies if this is a re-post, couldn't find any other threads on the same topic.

I have a gmail account, I refuse to link the two together out of principle though, or am I just mad that I am being force to do something?!

I don't like it just as much as you do but it depends how badly you want to login to your account. I have to login to watch flagged videos so I don't really have a choice.

I'm just going to make a separate gmail account and link it.

Ok well I have deleted my youtube cookies which means I can now view videos, I'll be happy not having an account at the moment, I'll create a bookmark folder for anything interesting.

Indeed, don't really see the massive issue with having one Google site using a linked login with another Google site. It's already shared between mail, homepage, maps etc.

I dont see what your beef is really. I work for customer services and this is like the idiots that will give their name, address and debit/credit card details, but try to refuse to give out their date of birth.

I don't have a Google account but Do have a YouTube account so why should I be forced into getting a Google account. For new users signing up to YouTube I can understand but not established users???? (I'll have to register a spam account just to log in I suppose :()

After being optional for an epic length of time this was inevitable. They own and run it, they can do as they please basically - regardless of what some users will think about it.

I never did mine out of sheer laziness, this time around it actually pulled my Googlemail account from the gmail login and all I had to do was type the password. ez-mode.
