Mold & pregnancy?

I was expecting some sort of mouldy genitalia, title is confusing.

You should probably look in to removing the mould either yourself or with professional help, depending on how much there is.

Would that advice not have worked anyway? :D

I'd get it looked at, mold spores can be very small, passing easily through the body and having the potential to disrupt fetal development, not to mention the potential harm to your health.

One question: why are you not doing something about it anyway? This is not an episode of House.

Regardless of your sister, get the mould sorted.

Why would it take a pregnant visitor for you to want to stop your own house being mouldy?

We have mould and damp in our flat. Building is less than five years old and we clean it when we see it.

Spoke to the landlord who told us it was a life style and that we need to leave all our windows open all the time.

Yeh, ok then!

I was in a house with Mold was an end terrece and the whole outside wall was leaking from the roof into the cavity make every room that was on the outside wall damp and in most of them mold grew some areas worse than others..

Come summer all dried out and fine winter came and mold city withing a few days walls where coverd, I checked the cost to repair the roof and full damp clean out and was gonna cost me about 17k for the lot, Insurence would not cover any of it, in the mean time missus was preggers about 3 months gone, no signs of any issues none of us felt ill or had colds or anything anyway Builders said they could not do the whole repair job till summer as if done in winter more issues would arise so they did a freeby patch up job took about 3 days to do it..... Job done and no damp came through like before only the odd corner when it had been really cold and wet outside......

Baby born and no problems at all..... 2 months old baby started with Eczema docs gave us cream and said should clear up pretty soon.... anyway it didnt this went on for 2 or 3 months....... Building work had just been started for the whole roof and damp repair..... we moved out for 2 weeks to her parents house (nightmare) while the work was done...

the Eczema cleared up while we were at her parents house went back after work was done great no damp at all, job well done.

to this day our child still has Eczema issues not bad just now and then. we have since had 2 more children in the same house and neither of them have ever had Eczema issues.

Just shows exposure to mold at any stage can cause issues, we just feel lucky that it 's only mild Eczema now and nothing really bad like breathing problems.....

House still mold free by the way 6 years down the line.

Doh forgot to add the point -
If your renting the house just leave as landloads do crappy jobs on the cheap if it's your own house then sorry either sell up or pay for the repairs.
tis not worth your health.
