I'll never forget both visits although I was more moved by the visit to Yad Vashem. How on earth did you manage to get to Yad Vashem while in the Army?

IIRC the last exhibit there is a single childs shoe softly illuminated in a glass case. Real choker.
Some estimates put the number of children murdered as high as 1.5 million.
They came from many ethnicities and included children who had been institutionalised for various reasons.

I think you missed my point. The showers at Auschwitz were the gas chambers. The people were told to strip and leave their possessions behind as they were going into a room to have a shower. They even had pipes and shower heads it was just gas which came out of them.

There was a strange stench when I went there. I think it was probably how sweaty they got doing work and that and maybe they didn't scrub the walls down or the room after they had finished...that was probably the smell. I think they could have asked to turn on the hot water instead of it just being gas.

You can't get clean with just gas :o

pardon my ignorance but can you tell me more about Yad Vashem.

I've not heard about this place before.
 
I probably won't be going there again, it was pretty boring the first time around, I can understand why its free, nothing to do but walk around and look at stuff. No shops or anything and they don't really look after the place very well.

I only watched a few of them. His video is flawed. His interviews are cut short, edited etc.

There is a huge question mark whether some of the people he interviewed were even talking about Auschwitz.

Fact is, there are huge amounts of documentation the Nazis left behind at Auschwitz detailing how many tonnes of gold from fillings and hair were shipped out of there every month.

Whether you beleive the gas chambers on not, the fact is that 60,000 to 70,000 people per month were arriving at the camp and the camp could only hold a little more than that amount of people so hence that many were dying every month.

Ignore that guy, he's pretending to be ignorant.

And don't mean to be pedantic, but the gas didn't come out of the shower heads at Auschwitz. They dropped the gas capsules through ducts in the roof, according to Rudolf Hoss, and the cyanide from the Zyklon B then got them all within 20 minutes.
