First Crysis 2 PS3 Footage

Not sure if it's different over in the PC forums but the lack of hype this seems to be getting makes me think it's going to be rubbish.... well that and I really didn't like the first one :o

the dude from crytek said they aren't different, period! PS3 version doesn't run faster, they both run at 30FPS using the same bunch of settings, the only version that is different is the PC release.

Then why not set it somewhere a bit nicer and more colourful? Everywhere is bloody grey in shooters these days. I much preferred the tropical setting of Crysis 1 and Far Cry 1. They haven't raised the bar one jot with this.

You can try and call me an idiot all you want but the fact remains that it's a generic brown/grey shooter when we should expect something better from Crytek.

totally agree in that respect, would much rather return at least in part to the lush jungles of 'the island' maybe at the start of the game and then end up in urban cityscape later on, thing is though this is new for crytek, since far cry was jungle themed, crysis was jungle themed, so crysis 2 with its urban jungle is a new experience from their point of view. :) still got a lot of hope for this personally, especially since they've worked a lot on the story side of things but i think its definately a PC game rather than a console game.

This game is going to be great. Saw the video earlier and apart from a lack of AA looks identical to the 360 version just as Crytek said it would at the end of last summer (funny how Ps3 fanboys always fail to remember that quote but have no problem remebering a much earlier quote from the same developer). So please don't pour fuel on an old fire and just enjoy the game irrespective of which platform you choose to play it on as the game itself looks absolutely awesome.

I have a feeling that this is going to be great. I have ordered it on the PC tho because i have built this awesome kit but its just not used.

I really think the PC version will have the advantage with level of detail, definition and resolution but the console versions should have the edge with the controls how much better would the first game have been if you could seamlessly switch between your suits modes like you "Should" be able to with a controller?

I'm gonna wait till the pc demo to decide because I want the game on pc to take advantage of the great graphics etc but I'm rubbish with a mouse and keyboard. While this won't matter in single player (can just use the 360 pad) in the multiplayer 90% of pc players will be using the mouse and keyboard and I'll get owned (I know this from other pc multiplayers where I've used the pad) so it'll make it rubbish for me. With the ps3 though I won't have that problem as everyone is on an even playing field but it will have a lot worse graphics and if I have a decent pc I may aswell use it.
I could learn to use the keyboard and mouse but that'll take time aswell and until I'm any good I won't be winning much.;)

So the PS3 version has no AA and the XBox one does?

Yep, although its very hard to spot. At the end of the day who cares? Buy it for whatever platform you want to play it on or which pad (or mouse and keyboard) you prefer using as they game is gonna be great on any machine and isn't that what matters?
