To be honest they could do with upping the exp/cash. Got a few ai tests to gold and the S-license is just too much like hard work, if it's anything like the other "over take every car" license tests it's more hit and miss than skill. For me driving skill is as much knowing how to setup a car as wrestling a pig round a track and in license tests you've got no setup options. Same goes for some of the specials, haven't bothered with AMG, by and large I don't like Mercs, when they're not understeering they're oversteering.
The best thing they could do for me would be to up the exp and cr for online races as those tend to be far fairer and tougher than aspec.

I have had to b-spec grind but that's not that hard and I've hit 40 b-spec so it's just about cash now and even that's not as pressing as it was as I've got most of the expensive cars.

Where has all my money gone then? :( :p Oh yeah, 300k on a '90 Panda (200 bhp, 650kg :D) and another 300k on a 240 GLT Lolvo drift machine :D Buying things like that probably don't help :p

LOL i thought it was 31

and yeah i've had to grind b spec like crazy.

i weasn't happy about them dropping the bronze times for the x2010 event i worked very hard to get bronze and now you can do it easy peesy even spin off the track once and still get bronze.

camper van top gear challenge gold still eludes me tho lol

I've just gone from about 500k shy of the 20 million mark to less than 15 million buying lots of random cars from the UCD and premium dealerships, so yeah, it doesn't help lol On the plus side I do now own about 10 dodge vipers :D (all three premium models in multiple colours hehe)

It's not as easy as you might think. You say spin off the track? I assume you could do that before then and still carry on? Because what they've apparently done now with the 1.06 update is make it so you're DQ'd instantly for merely CLIPPING the track edge a bit too much. Spin off and you're DQ'd immediately too. So at this point you have to be REALLY good to keep it on the track without clipping the edges too heavily or you get DQ'd. So while you have more time now you also have to be way more careful to stay on the track.

I see some people are scared of using my 1 level 39 & 2 level 40 drivers, don't be the last time i used a level 40 driver i came last ( gad dame that aston martin car).

PSN marlos_ if your not to scared of racing at level 40

I used them a couple of times :) But yeah, the high class levels sorta put me off a bit... but then I recall they didn't do that well on at least one occasion I used them. But then with the AI in this game even a class 0 driver can win an event against multiple higher class oponents heh.

Not sure what's up with the career bar now. My main driver is about halfway through his career when I check his stats... but when I click to open the more detailed stats where you can receive your prizes for some reason his career bar is about 1cm further to the right than it should be.

no no, 33 is where I am :D
You can see what level all your friends are in the "profile" tab, see licenses etc there too.

Idk what you're all whining about, I'm always buying random cars, half of them ain't been used yet :o
Just chaved up an Impreza sedan thingy (envy green with a carbon bonnet :D)
Got all the Group C and Group B cars and over half the GT and LMP cars.
This game is easy.

I'm sure driver AI has gone worse since this last patch. My B spec driver smashes into every single car that's in front of him, even on the straights .

Sorry Wednesday night I was doing the low lvl drivers for everyone. Was going to use every ones 30 and above last night. But I got stuck at work. I'll do some tonight and over the weekend.

Loading seem fine here.

Does anyone have the following so I can complete Amateur Series? I blew all my cash race modifing my civic, miss click

Mazda MX-5 - NR-A Roadster Cup
Pick UP Truck - Pick-UP Truck Challenge
French car - Tous France Championnat

When you guys do remote racing, do you do lots or short races or few but longer races?

hai guys.
Because now and then I come across people who don't seem to bother with setup I'd just like to point out that some itty bit adjustments instantly improved my lap time in an Alfa Romeo 916 Spyder around Tsukuba by .443 seconds, I didn't try any harder, I just jiggled some settings.

So I'm going to try to give some quick tips, apologies if this is a waste of space for most of you.

If in high speed corners the front of your car seems to slide out into understeer, increase front camber, if the back slides out a bit, increase rear camber. Big camber angles mean your car can pull more Gs in a corner, this is good. I usually use a higher front camber.

In low speed corners:
if understeer, soften front spring rate (or harden rear)
if oversteer, soften rear spring rate (or harden front)

If on putting the power down you tend to sort of lag with the driving wheels slipping, try increasing the differentials acceleration sensitivity, however, if your car seems to be pulled or pushed to the outside of a corner by the driven wheels under acceleration, the diff may be too strong.

With 4WD cars, I pretty much always bias the torque towards the rear.

If your car is sluggish on turn-in, when not braking or accelerating, try setting front toe to about -0.1.

Changes to toe/camber, in reality at least, will increase tyre wear, don't know if this applies in game, but the pros often outweigh the cons. Look at the camber on an F1 car, particularly the front, very obvious camber.

Pay attention to the tyre wear diagram, red means the wheel is either locked or spinning, or in other words, isn't gripping.

Most importantly, learn to drive without t/c or any other aids, it's tough but it will make you better, I admit I use ABS, but even so still find myself pumping brakes or tapping handbrake on some cars.

edit: @Ak, I'll set them to online so you can borrow them?

Thanks, have a horrible feeling that my PS3 maybe dying then.. it just hung on the title screen and after turning of/on everything seems to be running slow :(

Mine does this too. Its an 80gb phat that's 2 years old, so I'd hope its not dying :( Clearing the in-game cache seems to help

might just be ur interwebs, clogged with lolcats, or PSN clogged with 12yr olds playing cod, or it might be getting too hot if your house is warm.
You can hope.. but back up your saves!
I did find that when mine was on 5 days straight sometimes it would get a bit sluggish, so I'd leave it off for a night.

ak I've put some cars online for you, they might be a bit overkill as they were tuned for b-spec and for the french one I just picked a random one, 206 rally car, should do the job.

edit: btw we passed 10k posts a couple pages back
