Ok, I got an onyx system 6 months ago and it came with megahalems. Is it normal for them to bend? I hadnt looked into the pc since I bought it but had a look inside today for the first time and wow! that is one big cooling tower! However in my case it looks like mavity is winning the battle. Is this normal?

Also what is making this system so loud. I have adjusted fan speeds on the sytem fan and GPU fan and its not them making the noise. So its either the CPU fan ( which I cant get Asus PC probe II to change fan speed with, nor will speedfan work with it, so I cant slow the CPU fan down to see if its the loud one.) Plus the CPU has a sharkoon silent eagle on it, so im guessing its supposed to be pretty quiet too?! It could also be the Power supply fan (even though the corsair Gs600 is supposed to be ultra quiet design) which again doesnt even seem to have any speed control.

That cooler shouldn't be bending like that that. If you want to check whats making all of the noise unplug the CPU fan for a few seconds when you first turn the PC on then plug it back in and see whats making the noise. If its the CPU fan and it uses a 3 pin connector you could get something like this to control the speed. Or you could get a proper fan controller.

Blimey. That doesn't look great... I'm sure that shouldn't happen. Perhaps drop OC a line and show them what's happened. It might be covered by a warranty.

LOL ...no, thats not right. Mine has been in for over a year and looks the same as i bought it.

RMA it :)

Definitely an rma job there. Did it not come with padding on the sides and between the two sections of the cooler?

If the fan was on the CPU there's no way it could have bent like that with the way clips hold fan on that model, U would have pull pretty hard to do that that's not a a knock! I've transported my PC with this cooler on and its not moved a inch, also if the fan is stuck on full rpm it's going to be loud try a pwm fan or controller. power supply fan will control itself on temperature for that model.

That doesn't look healthy... Will it not fit on the board rotated 90*? so the 'split' is vertical, not horizontal? Would reduce weight related pressure on the heat pipes making it less likely to happen again :)

But I'm with everyone else on this, RMA it asap before it touches your GPU

Its not Cooling as it should as its not level with your out going fan on the PSU maybe a bit of turbulence going on there! uneven airflow = noise .. its not right anyway needs sorting for sure, whats your temps like?

Edit
Its hard to see but is your Heat sink facing the right way

looks like its been bumped about in transit.

i have replied to your webnote and will arrange to sort the issue out personally for you :)

Thanks for your help rjkoneill I have sent a reply to you via webnote.

Setter: No I dont think there is padding, what you see in the picture is what I saw when I first looked yesterday.

hyperst: Lol, dont worry. The fan was there, I just moved it out the way to take a photo!!

EniGmA1981: Dont know if it can be rotated, this is the way the system arrived.

Davy644: Temps are fine I think, I run Black Ops at full settings for everything and it sits around 65c-70c. Is that normal? What way should the heatsink be facing? I dont know if its the right way or not but as I said above this is how the system arrived.

this is what i love about overclockers there exellent customer service:)...

i have the same cooler and mines is perfect they are exellent.....

Ok, Have checked fan speeds and my CPU fan is stuck at 1800rpm!!!! I have a P6x58d-e motherboard and the cpu fan is a sharkoon silent eagle. Am I right in thinking that this fan IS controllable and should be running slower( I'm sure I read somewheer that 800rpm is a god speed for this type of fan.
