I did some checking up about our issue and i read some where that some people found the world conversion for server is buggy and that some people used the SP mode to convert the world and found that seems to work better.
I finally got my hand on version 1.4 server and have it running on my home system. I was wondering if i could get a copy of the server world to run some tests of my own on it?
It would be the perfect world for testing a few things from my end and would be helpful in learning more about the server setup stuff
I still have to add the plug-ins but that is the next thing i will work on

hmm assuming the current nether mod does reduce by the right 8, a track though nether from mine an syls to spawn will take 24 stacks of iron i think and a boat load of chinese slave labour to build a safe track though the nether.
or it's going to take a bit over 1,000,000 (2000 double chests) of cobble to make a 3 wide flowing (ie powered you you get in at one end and it will take you all the way without further input) via duct to out place from spawn.

i got loads of cobble my house is inside a mountain so was plenty of excavating done.
