Hello,

I just want to ask for advice about cleaning an oil stain on the street, basically at high speed (>120mph) my lowered car ( the mitsubishi) slammed into the tarmac because of a hill/bump in the road, 5 minutes later at home when we get out after parking I hear a dripping noise, I look under the car and oil is sipping from the area where the oil sump is ( luckily the oil pressure never dropped, and about 2-3 liters still dripped out AFTER the engine was turned off, so I doubt I have engine damage)... Cleaned most of the oil puddle ( with towels and paper), but an oil stain remains, how can I clean this without too much attention from the neighbors, I don't want them to know my car **** out about 3 liters of oil, so far I've kept it covered with the car ( still have to fix it), but the stain is quite massive and very visible and when it rains you can clearly see an oil trail in the water coming from near my car.

Am I right in thinking :
1 Cat litter
2 Bio deg APC
3 Rinse with hose ( I guess I'll pretend to wash my car) ?

Any tips, losing oil on a public street is a fineable offense here, cba with cops moaning about an oil stain where my car is... I'm angry enough my car is broken for the 2nd time because the moron who owned it before me thought it was a good idea to lower it ( already broken my exhaust before over a speedbump) and I have to buy a new lower part of the sump and 5 liters of oil. Thank god I have a second car I can use until I fix it though.

Washing up liquid can shift it, along with hot water and a good brush, and lots of elbow grease... It takes a while to remove...

Look on the bright side, at least you didn't rip the sump off completely, and give the road a coating of oil which would have probably caused an accident in any cars behind you hit it!

When I smashed the sump on my old 406 in a similar fashion it cracked the oil pump housing too.

Pretty sure gunk do a driveway cleaning product. Not sure if you would get in over there but I would imagine a motor factors would sell a suitable product.

Get hold of a gallon size bottle of catering washing liquid. Better still some dishwasher detergent (more aggressive as it doesn't usually have to be handled like washing liquid). Pour some onto the pacth undiluted, and scrub it with a stiff broom. Pressure wash it off afterwards (if you can get hold of a pressure washer). Should do the trick.

Yes, this had nothing at all to do with you driving at over 120 miles per hour, with a passenger as well? Nice one!

I don't understand why people lower their cars that much.
Yes having a lowered car has benefits and they do look good, but too low just looks stupid and the amount of traffic calming in this country makes it more trouble then it's worth.

LOL

Another classic Snowdog story.

Three questions:

A) If you were so annoyed with the previous owner lowering the car, why did you even buy it?
B) If you were so annoyed with the previous owner lowering the car, why didn't you put it back to standard?
C) Why were you driving at 120mph over hills with a passenger in the car on suspension you already knew was very low?

Ive used white spirit and cat litter pretty succesfully on my drive. I think it has to be fullers earth cat litter and not paper based.

Ive been told Coca Cola is supposed to be good as well but it has to be the real stuff and cheap supermarket stuff doesnt work - might just be urban legend tho.

Didn't think there was any hills in Holland. :p

Anyway, Worst my car does 120 thread ever. :D

Did you have the tunes on blasting when the 120mph impact happened?

I feel its an important question, so we can properly picture the scene.

get some catering de greaser like deepio or grease cutter plus it eats car grease and oil
