BulletStorm - Official Thread

Really enjoying the single player! The dialogue is great and the way you move about is nice and immersive with the fantastic backdrops and action going on. Been a long time since a game has pulled me in like this. Very well put together. Shame it's not so long, sounds like I'm near the end.
 
Finished it in 2 sittings on Friday night/Saturday morning and it was pretty much as I expected; silly, cool weapons, stupid uber macho one liners/script and totally OTT. Not going to win any game of the year awards, but I still had a damn good time with it.

Going to be trying the mulitplayer out in the week when some more people have finished it and see how that works out.
 
maybe i'm **** at this game but when i watched the preview trailers/movies i've seen enemies being whipped up in the air. how do i do this? is this a weapon upgrade? All i seem to be able to do is pull them towards me.

You spend points and unlock the leash upgrade, 'thumper', which thumps the baddies into the air for a few seconds.
 
Im about just got partnered with the cyborg friend after the crash.

So far its very unreal 3 looking which i dont like as unreal 3 games are really ugly imo.

Gameplay wise. Hmm i duno. With a 360 pad its hard to target as it moves so slow vs a mouse which i really try to use a 360 pad as i wana just chill with it but its just really hard to go from a mouse to a controller. The lance thingy is cool but very gimmicky. The voice overs are ok and hmm where is his voice from as its really familiar. Story wise i duno it is ok but..

I struggled to keep playing during the crash and fighting off ppl and i stopped when the injured guy came back with cyborg parts.

Does it get any better. I dont like waves of enemy games just enemys that should be there hence i didnt like the enemys coming when i crashed.

I think the option to upgrade to the thumper is in like the 2nd chapter maybe? Can't remember for sure but its quite early on, really handy for getting the mini-boss' onto their backs so you can shoot off their backpacks.
 
thanks for the info.

well i got past Act1 -3 (big wheel mining car thing) and still dont have the thumper. obviously i need to up my skill kills to obtain it. would have made the 1st mini boss easier i guess.
 
wow that train level was :eek::eek::eek:

I only got as far as chapter 2 then i felt nausated, sucks being a migrain sufferer :(
 
Played this at a mates (although console). a lot of fun but i dont think it's worth the purchase yet, maybe when its 10/15 quid.
 
it certinly interesting apporch to Fps, I did play the 360 demo

I think its a bit over the top so to speck and I quickly got tried of finding ways of killing I just started doing it naturally IE shot them in the face sort of thing
 
Yes, it's odd - the way to play the game "properly" is to put your guns away and use your leach, kick and environment. There you get more points. To spend on ammo and weaponry. Huh?

This is the core of the multiplayer at least. Only use your weapon to disable the boss ready for a skill shot. Too many players are just going round shooting everything for 10 points which is no good.
 
I wish it had competitive MP. Imagine how awesome that would be. They would need to balance the leash some how, prehaps make it a powerup like quad damage in quake, but man I would love to slide across the floor and kick my mates into cactuses or off sheer drops!

With a bit of luck it'll be modded/pached it.

Knowing EA though, it'll be added in for the low low price of £toomany.

They couldn't balance it without making it essentially not Bulletstorm which is my understanding as to why they didn't do it.
