***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Just started last night managed to do two races then the go karting, pretty fun stuff I've had this since release however only just got my Fanatec GT2 is anyone else using the same wheel? I need some decent In-Game and settings for the wheel it feels quite stiff, I'm no expert when it comes to sim racing but my Microsoft wheel was a lot easier to play then with this.

Any advice or tips?

Easier to host a room by heading to the "My Lounge"

No need for codes!

but.. afaik using "My Lounge" makes a private room, "Open Lounge" makes a public room and it's not like I've added everyone on OC.
Not to mention friends can still find an open lounge room in the same way

Not to mention the pants lobby and search criteria.

A few weeks ago Sydney posted that he had a room up on here so I went to join and refreshed the list about 8 times with no joy.
Came back to forums and got the number, punched it in and was in straight away.
Saves a lot of hassle.:)

quick question. my mate needs me to send him a car to compete with. im upto level 28 myself so have pretty much all the prize cars but he's stuck on level21 with no cash and no decent cars to carry on.... he's basically hit a brick wall.

i've been searching through my garage and it doesn't allow me to see which level each car is. anyone know what i can send or if he can use a car which is higher than his current level?

bit odd indeed will look to see if ive set something up wrong as none of my drivers have run a race since i last did one.

just re-doing a bspec championship which i blitzed this morning leaving for work during the last race comfortably in front to come home to find my ps3 switched off and losing all the progress i had made. annoying when its the dream car championship at god knows how long each race takes.

I found you on the remote racing list via PS3 going to do few races then try via the browser later hopefully you will be on there this time. :D

Hey I am new to GT5 but I believe does not matter what level he is to drive a car, best way to do it is "share car with friends" he just needs to tell you what car he wants e.g. what cup/championship he has yet to complete that way you can share 6 cars he can complete them and get money fast.

Edit: I don't think cars have levels.

You make a good point.

You win this discussion.
You... concede a point.. on the internet?
I think you win.

I can confirm that you can use any level car that is sent to you.
If you share your cars he can use them in A or B spec but if you wanted to race online you'll need to gift the cars to him.. or send him here and some nice forum goers might oblige :D

Just had another drive (pardon the pun) at completing this game and it's now down in the single digits. 3 full laps in the AMG Driving Academy to gold, 2 events in the Grand Tour to turn gold, 1 endurance event and the infamous Red Bull Challenge.

Then of course there is thee slight issue of buying 500 cars but that's so much simpler :o

Its March - you failed :p;)

ps3ud0

I wasn't aware that I set a time limit on me completing all the events, unless I'm mistaken :p

Only 500 cars to buy? Damn you. I've only got about 410 :(
I'll go buy a bunch of cheap cars to catch up :p

Not sure on the exact number, but it is about 500.

EDIT: Down to 6 events now. Just checked and I have 466 cars.

sweet, I'm on about 410, not far to go. Debating splurging money on cheap cars or continuing saving for the Mark IV/P4/F2007/Miura.. I think they're the only big moneys ones left.

[chanting]P4 P4 P4![/chanting]

Seriously, its an awesome car

If anyone wants a hard race try this: C63, Comfort Hard tyres, TC off in the beginners FR race on Trail Mountain. Its a giggle :D

but the Mark IV sounds sooo good! makes me feel naughty :o
besides I want to spend spend spend and not save save save.
I want to buy a premium JGTC NSX too, only got the standard ones.
(stupid question, any difference? Aero wise etc? Because privateers can develop aero and the like independent of factory right?)

I'm confused what you're on about? JGTC factory teams vs privateer teams? I'd guess the regs are so tight there wouldn't any noticeable difference?

well as far as I know the regs were/are quite flexible in terms of aero, engine placement, chassis modification, engine modification, forced induction with the main requirements being: based on a road car, 45mm(?) intake restrictor and ballast for win/pole/fastest lap?
