Crysis 2 is another console port, no DX11!!!!

DX11 features dont make big sales.. so why on earth would they spend time adding the feature set from the latest SDK. You need to think with your $$$ not your love of high-res PC shooters!

Really, considering the majority of the PC Market now have DX11 cards?

This just gets better and better...

I don't think there's ever been a more classic case of a PC game franchise nerfed for consoles.

It's a shame. Still, we have the original Crysis which still hasn't been bettered in the graphics deparment and is still a darn fine game. I'll be replaying that instead I think.

It'll be interesting to see how the gaming websites pick up on this - I've been disappointed with the lack of scrutiny on PC versions of multiplatform games recently. They tend to ignore or gloss over missing or nerfed PC features.

Cant believe people are still going on about console ports!!!

There is nothing we can do about it, we need to just get on with it, we've got dedi's so instead of putting people off buying/playing it lets cut the crying and just enjoy it..... PLEASE!!

Dev's wont be the death of PC gaming we will be..... I'm gutted there will be no DX11 shipped but still... PC gaming is about community which is something they've given us in way of dedi servers, so its not all doom and gloom.

im not going to buy this now, because it says dx9 on the box instead of dx11.

this makes me sad :(

It's a step backwards that's for sure, but there is a possibility for them to add DX10 and DX11 support. I'm pretty sure Windows XP and DX9 support is being phased out of games now, i would have expected EA to follow the same trend as BF:3, unless EA have delibrately hampered Crysis 2 and told Crytek to try and get as much detail out of DX9, whilst BF:3 will be the superior purchase with DX10 and DX11 support.

Disappointed. Demo got tedious after 10 mins too. Cant quite understand why they took an engine they had working fine and excellent. And instead of optimizing it and tweaking it and perhaps adding in some extra DX11 features they just chucked it away made the console game then slapped some code around to cater for the PC guys as usual. Even if they patch in DX11 later. That clearly shows that they didnt develop it using DX11 features etc in mind from the begining. In fact they made it for DX9 on console and ported over. :(

The 3d settings tab is for Nvidias 3dvision and nothing else, hover the cursor over it and it tells you "stereoscopic 3d settings"

Console port, game will not even ship with DX11.

lol. You seem to say that with pride. Seems like your happy about it or something.

Well I won't be buying it at full price for sure. Really disappointed with Crytek. I will wait a year or two until dx11 is done and game is fully patched and available for £4.99 on a steam sale :)

In the meantime I will just borrow a friends retail copy once he is done ;)

One thing I really love about these forums is that as soon as a new game is mentioned in news, people get all hyped up about it with Huge expectations in every area such as graphics, gameplay, storyline etc.

People then start to make big assumptions on the game as to how it should be 'this and that'. When actual details are released by the game developers, lo and behold;big disappointments lol:D:p

Not to mention the pirate side of it!!

We're our own worst enemy.... I dont blame them for what they've done!

It's a vicious circle...people pirate the game, devs respond by concentrating on the console aspect, even more people say 'right **** this, I'm pirating your game since you made it crap', etc. etc. ad infinitum.

It didn't help with a leaked version either that reportedly was a financial concern.

The demo sucks ***.

Why release a demo that sucks?

All publishers say "Ooh, the demo is old code" etc etc.

When the game is released, the code is the same.
