Rift: Planes of Telera Beta

My Copy should be here tomorrow, looking forward to playing Rift,not played the beta at all as ive been on hoilday and have just got back so ive missed the 7 day trial, but it certainly looks a very promising MMORPG.

For the people having issues :

If you're getting an error saying that you need to apply a retail key to your already upgraded account, please be patient and keep trying. There is a bit of a queue processing some of the new accounts. This seems to be resolving itself automatically and rather quickly, and you should be able to access the game again soon. Thanks.

Resolved itself rather quickly, just a small matter of the 8gb patch now...
 
I bought the digital collectors edition from Game and it seems i need to wait until i receive the cd key from them before i can login and begin downloading the game?

Been waiting 4 hours now..

I think that was me, it was the first time i have healed a dungeon. I don't think i want to do it again, it was alittle hard :p
 
Strange question guys, but how many patches as been released, and how big in total are they?, also is it like WoW were you can download so much of the patch at a time, or does it corrupt the patch?, just ordered a collectors edition myself

~100mb in patches I'd guess, aweful lot of very little ones.
 
Hmm thats not a lot, just I have a terrible download speed so sometimes I downloads them parts at a time, anyway now I gotta work out if its better to just get it though steam instead of retail, does steam handle the game download, or is it done though the RIFT cilent?
 
33 already, nice going! Holding out for some buddies at 18.

People finding any interesting combo's outside of the obvious/recommended soul mixes?

I dont know but I love my cleric spec. Insta crit nukes (500-700dmg), dots, fear and 3 forms of cc and instant heals. :D Oh and my shield absorbs 700dmg.... Level 29 by the way.

Also I have heard about a few people being hacked, any of you guys had any problems with it?

It has been suggested it is the fault of the ZAM Rift soul calculator, so considering I have used it quite a few times I am going to run a full scan on my computer, just to be safe.
 
I've been trying it out today - didn't have any problems at all, running everything max.

It's prettier than WOW, the character customisation is a little confusing at first, so I expect most will reroll at least once. Initial quests are interesting enough to keep playing - for now.
