Alien life is only interesting if it's intelligent.

So you don't think the finding of an alien bacteria would be amazing?
Just one little bacteria proved 100% to come from out there would mean that life is abundant in the Universe.

I'm sure there is plenty of alien life at the bottom of our deepest oceans.

But they aren't alien, they are Earth bacteria.
It may be bacteria we've never seen before but it belongs to Earth.

At this moment in time we could be completely alone in the Universe and Earth was a giant mistake.
All different ingredients came together in a certain order and at a certain time to make what we are now.
Finding one alien bacteria would be awesome on a gazillion awesome scale.
