Im just going off all the articles i have read.
Ohh sorry sir, i dont read all the headlines.
I can see sony winning look at how the hacker thing turned out sony won, even when Apple lost virtualy the same case.
problem is .. the ps3 is more higly regarded as a br player than a console
Hilariously untrue.

Fair enough its only temp but still goes to show Sony dont back down easily.
Pretty sure it is true, sure I read an article on here that said the majority of PS3 use is for movies.
Just wow at the egos in this thread - LOL

LG managed to secure an import ban against Sony on Monday which would last for just ten days and now The Guardian have discovered that the import ban is effective only in the Netherlands.

How recent is the article? A few years ago when BD players were expensive and the PS3 was regarded as one of the best, I'd easily believe it, but certainly not these days. The people buying PS3s want it for games, not for Blu-ray.
so any updates on this
i dont see it happening but it would be funny if sony couldnt sell any till they pay LG lol
Mayby Sony will take the oportunity to release a cheap PS3 with a bigger Hard Disk and no expensive BD Drive. They could get the unit cost down and switch to full download distribution at the same time.
Of course it would exclude the 80% of people that don't live a fibre area unless they fitout all the Computer game shops with some sort of kiosk which puts the game on a flash drive for you to take home and copy to your system (some sort of DRM needed).
I know its not going to happen, just a fleeting thought.
