Hi, I’m wondering if you can get an external enclosure 3.5” ESATA that is powered from the pc and not from a separate mains power adaptor.

eSATA doesn't carry power, so no. Current laptops often come with eSATA/USB combo ports, which support power-over-eSATA ("eSATAp") but I don't believe I've seen any eSATAp devices, which is a problem...
