Lee Evans Live...

I saw one of his smaller shows on the Big tour at the Bridlington Spa, was a great night, possibly the best stand up show I've ever been to (not that I've been to that many, mind). If it wasn't for the fact I was on the balcony, I'd definitely have gone to shake his hand (pretty much the entire downstairs crowd did, the guy was shaking hands and posing for photos for like 10 minutes straight :o)

Wife and I went to see him 2 weeks ago in the Cardiff Glee Club. He was fantastic, far more down to earth and interactive with the audience than on his big tours because he knows he is just testing the water with some of his jokes. The man can sweat though jeeeesus!

Would think he would be better on a small gig. I liked his videos and went to see him at Brighton and to be honest it was a let down, I know its scripted but it really felt that way too. I think Evans is a TV guy, the ones that do stand-up gigs best seem to me to be the ones who derive large parts of there show from banter with the audience.

Saw him a couple of years ago when he was testing material at a small venue. Only went as it was cheap as I found him extremely annoying on tv, but absolutely loved the gig. Laughed so hard my stomach hurt and couldn't see the stage through the tears. He is in talks with the same venue for another show, so hoping to catch him again.

Are you allowed cameras at the smaller gigs where he tests out his material?

Nope - he has a list of demands which include having bouncers at the doors, and strict security regarding video/photos. Also he hates to talk to anyone before his shows, so backstage is off limits to all besides his people.

Really? When I went to see him there was no sign of bouncers at all, and he was perfectly happy to pose for photos at the end of the show

Seen him twice now, both of his last two tours live at Sheffield Arena. I always pay extra for first 5 row tickets. He's immense, my favourite comedian. He's touring big again towards the back end of the summer, will try get to see him in Manchester this time tho

Not really a fan of his tbh...he can be funny at times but whats hilarious for me is the amount he sweats...geezus never seen anyone sweat as much as him....

Well that was on his rider at the venue I saw him at. Got a friend who works there and was stage manager for the night. With photos/video there was a strict warning regarding using them during show - after was fine.
