***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

How are people playing this?... from what I've read on the Crysis forums/Steam forums and the likes... like myself, 6 - 7 days having it installed now and cannot login or create new accounts. I use to be able to make new accounts, now it no longer works. Network connectivity and invalid character whining even with or without numbers.

Some of you go on like there's no login issues at all. Playing happily yet I see petitions and login issues threads, pages and pages of the problems.

V F, i believe you lol

Just saying it hasn't happened to me yet!, believe me this forum will be the first to know if i run into problems

I dont understand it either. I created an account in the middle of the supposed busy period where everyone was complaining. Took me about 5 minutes to create an account, sign in and start playing. Not had a single issue with unable to connect, disconnects, hackers or lag. Its ran very smooth. Wheras others are having an absolute nightmare. Hope it gets sorted for them.

+1

Maybe I am just easily pleased but I thought the demo plays really well.

Yes it is a console port, but graphics IMHO look pretty sweet and the demo runs well on my modest PC. The two maps both seem interesting and a nice diversion from "real world" settings in BFBC2 and CoD.

Just hope the release has more players than 6 a side - hoping for 16 a side tbh.

Must admit after reading some of the stuff on here and other sites I thought it was going to be terrible but I am pleasantly surprised

Same here. Just cannot get on. I have never come across a worse demo. One that is so bad that u can't even start the dam thing. It's a first for me.

Been playing a few more rounds tonight (no issues with logon at all only full server messages when trying to get on 11/12 player servers) and the only thing that annoyed me was issues with hit detection. When you have to shoot someone five times with the sniper rifle before it registers a kill something is wrong. To make matters worse the next I died is from someone shooting me once with the damn sniper rifle (not a headshot).

Some of the "issues" with hit detection will be down to my aiming but some moments are a bit W T F...?

EDIT: Played around a bit with the small tweaking program linked earlier in the thread, whilst it allows great adjustment of the FOV, I was left with a mouse that didn't feel quite right however I tweaked it (it felt over assisted despite turning that feature off..). Switching back to the "Vanilla" game cured the mouse issue but the FOV was horrible.

If anyone is interested it plays perfectly fine (30-40fps) on my Alienware M11x R1 (Core 2 Duo @ 1.6GHz / GT335m @ 525/1260/1740), I get the occasional hiccup but this could be down to server lag rather than FPS issues. Given the M11x's rather modest specs I am pleasantly surprised, especially after the torrid time I have had trying to get TDU2 playable on it.... ).

For what it's worth I think Crytek have done a excellent job with crysis 2 and we have yet to see the SP yet.:D

Some PC gamers will never be happy not until they have ****ed the last of the developers that really care about PC gaming Crytek, Blizzard and Valve by people saying it is a console port when it's not or turning to piracy.

Crytek have said they will add DX11 at a later date that's fine by me because the game look amazing in it's current state.:)

There si so much hatred for Cyris isn't there? Admittedly I didn't like the first one when it first came out (performance) but it's one of the few games I go back to and now I think it's tremendous fun and still the most beautiful game ever. I was going to buy Crysis 2 anyway but I don't think I'll play the demo.

just had a play, its pretty good, hope the single player is good.

Runs good on my system and looks nice, although not as good as the first and theres way too much blur, sometimes hard to see enemys.

What's this... load up to see if I can login, little window pops up:

The patch for the recently released Crysis 2 Demo. This fixes some issues in the initial release.

Changes include

* "Press Start to Begin" has been changed to "Press Enter to Begin" on the main menu
* Ping changes in server browser - no ping for anyone now (all 0) - "Crytek is working very hard to fix this for the shipping game"
* Fixed crash if getting force disconnected from a dedicated server (although the force disconnect issue has been resolved anyway)
* Account creation now works properly
* G35 headset fix now implemented
* People not able to sign in with certain characters such as "-" or "numbers" in their username, now can"

lol

Too late. The damage has already been done.

This is funny. I get the same as him.

I waited for an entire week, and they finally release a patch. I apply the patch, and the only thing that has changed is that I get a DIFFERENT ERROR when I try to login to the game.
I have an idea - Since Crytek is SOOOO concerned about losing money, that they are willing to inconvenience us to add a bit of security to the game, we should make it easy for them. NOBODY should buy this game EVER. The disks should rot on the shelves before anyone, anywhere pays money for this fiasco! I would like to say that this level of poor service is surprising, but unfortunately it seems to be the "norm" lately. We need to send a message to people like this, that we are the customer, and we are tired of being treated this way!
DON'T BUY THIS GAME - ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, EVER!

Lmfao, rage quit in beta... gg

Judging a game based on a beta that has 2 maps and thats it... and he wants to rage over a login system that will easily be fixed (the purpose of a beta, to find out the niggles with the servers etc) in time for release, good job son :)

If they can't give him a sample of the game, what'd you expect him to do?

Just not buy the game. Or wait to see if the issue will be ressolved. The problem isnt happening to everyone, I would even put money on it being the minority that are having the problems (the vocal minority anyway). What you dont do is break down into nerd rage mode and demand everybody boycot a game forever and ever because you cant log in.

Most of the time these days we dont even get a demo to try it out. Surely this is showing that they do want to release a good product by putting one out then and then working towards fixing the issues people are having. Theres still a few weeks till release and we dont know what state or version the demo came from anyway.
