Trying to root a mates phone, but when he powers off the phone and boots it up while holding the up key it just boots as normal, any ideas?

You need to press the "down" key, not the "up" key whilst pressing power on, to get into recovery mode. (Just double checked on my phone). Hope this might help.

yeah i will too without her knowing lol, im guessing is the problem when your in a call and you end call or whatever and remove phone from ear the screen stays black, she went mad when that happend

The missus hates the phone. She is used to the simplicity of her old LG Shine.... I;ve got a lot of work to do to win her over.

Would anyone be kind enough to outline any quick pros & cons of FLB-Froyo G2 r10b, MoDaCo Custom Froyo ROM r12 and JJ RLS9?
Battery life issues, wifi issues, major bugs etc? Each of the threads on Modaco is 200 pages long which is a lot of reading!

FLB-Froyo G2 r10b is the best for me for battery life.

Not got access to Modaco's own rom

Jellyfish was slow

CM7 RC2 still has battery issues.
