I currently have £350 to spend at OcUK for a new CPU, Motherboard and RAM and would like some advice please.
I have had a quick look at the products and found the following below. Would this be a good purchase or can you recommend me better alternatives.

Intel Core i5-2400 3.10GHz (Sandybridge)
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Asus P8P67-M Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 MicroATX Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **

Thank for the reply Shibbzy
I am not that bothered about overclocking to be honest, so as long as the components are fine and Iam getting a good system for the money then I am happy.

Had a look at our Xenon bundles? This one is a quad core AMD and would be a good basis for your build. Not overclocked so you don't have to worry about big heatsinks etc. Just a thought as it seems to fit the bill perfectly!

I wasn't bothered about overclocking also Blue, I went for a H67 mobo model, which saved me a bit of dollar, and similar an i5-2500 3.3ghz. That MAY be better for you?

Please someone correct me if i'm wrong, but it's what I have :p

Asus P8H67M-EVO Intel H67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro-ATX Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (because you put it)
Intel Core i5-2500 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail

That's under your budget, please dont quote me on this spec, hopefully someone else will agree. If your not overclocking than the P67 is wasted?

Agreed, Shibbzy's spec is nice. If not somewhat overkill - what do you use it for? If its for gaming and there is the possibility of multi-gfx cards then you will need the P67 chipset.

Are you struggling to shift them Nath? :p Really well priced actually!

i know you said your not bothered with overclocking now, but you might want to in the future when the computer is starting to show its age. with this lot you will just need a custom cooler for when you want to overclock. ive included the intel standard cooler because i believe that the processor doesnt come with one (OEM).

the motherboard also does crossfire and SLI properly (x8/x8)

No SLI/CF option (might not be an issue at all, who knows until OP enlightens us) and no Shogun II game :p

Well if it's not an issue then it's a good choice for him... and you shouldn't buy something just because of the free game ;p

Waste of time buying something for a free gift that you wouldn't have bought in the first place

Indeed, but the game retails for £30. He could sell it 2nd hand for around £25. That gets him a i5 2500k for OEM price - its one reason I chose my HD6870, when I sold all the associated stuff that came with it it only cost me £135.75 - bargain!

It's just helpful if budget or money is an issue really :p

And couldn't agree more, brilliant spec - if he doesn't want to SLI/CF :)
