Disgusting Mail article, need to rant...

By the way the afghans and Iraqis have every right to fight our troops as we are the ones invading there country, wouldn't we be ****ed off and be in the streets fighting if foreign tanks started rolling down our streets, troops raping and killing our families? And then be angry if we were called terrorists for daring to oppose invasion? If this is the case then our grandparents etc where terrorists because they where fighting an invading force in two world wars

Difference is we're the West. Benefit of which is we can dictate who is right and wrong - nobody ****s with us, so your argument is irrelevant. :)

NATO are supporting Afghan Troops fighting an insurgency, they have not invaded. 75% of all Afghani civilian casualties are caused by the Taliban insurgency and their Terrorist allies.

So, beside removing our troops from Afghanistan without considering why they were sent there to begin with. what would you suggest would have been a better response to a Regime that was supporting and giving safe haven to Terrorist organisations whose sole purpose is the fall of Western Civilization and it's replacement with an Islamic Caliphate?

Not that I disagree completely with you but the original aim was to get rid of Al Quaeda - that has been achieved to an extent in that they're likely within some tribal area in Northern Pakistan these days. The Taliban (as scummy as they are) are not necessarily a direct threat and nor is it a foregone conclusion that they'd necessarily let training camps spring up in the country again should NATO withdraw and they somehow seize power. It is a reasonably valid argument (though would be taking a big risk) to say that we don't necessarily need to be there any more. tbh...

Personally I feel we do as we have an obligation to provide some stability to the country and also it isn't necessarily in our interests to have the Taliban back. Either way it does seem that we'll be out in 2015 regardless of whether we're in a good position to hand over or not.

LOL i cant believe you beat me to this. 16 minutes as well .

I have exclusive footage of this:

As for the article - yeah its a bit bad taste but tbh.. if you rant or get worked up about the daily mail then you've already lost.

Still nice shot getting two of them!

Really so what happens when china decide otherwise and get sick of this little country and it's cousin throwing there weight about

Iraqis are well educated (guess who set up their education system back in the day) and tend to have a Satellite dish on the roof regardless of the state of the rest of their dwelling. The majority wanted Saddam gone, a portion of that majority were happy to seem him go but not happy at westerners hanging around for too long. Regardless of this they've got a democratically elected government and they requested that coalition forces stay on. Iraqis didn't have 'every right' to fight our troops at all (aside from Iraqis who were serving within Saddam's army and only during the initial invasion, whilst in uniform).

As for Afghans - I can sympathise with the idea that someone living in a remote area, isolated from the world might feel threatened and take shots at invaders but given that we've been in the country for years now I don't think there is much excuse any more.

Bit far fetched - please link me a story where a British soldier has raped a local Iraqi or Afghan woman?

As for killing - yeah later on in Iraq it was more a case of if they shoot at you you shoot them, In Afghan its more you see terry taliban you slot terry taliban (unless some US general gets involved and tries some new policy of 'heroic restraint' etc...) but either way you're generally only taking aimed shots at known scumbags. Innocent people do get killed but its mostly down to insurgents than us or simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time - as much as people will try to avoid civilian casualties if you're in a contact and the fire support team has decided to drop a whole host of ordinance on the guys with towels on their heads who are now wishing they never shot at your patrol then sometimes a few innocent people will get caught up in it.

i personally hate american soilders. they are too arrogant. the british are completely different.

you must understand that maybe a lot of people in iraq despised saddams rule but then again, i think he was the lesser of 2 evils here

They are the same article, and the relevant bit is at the end.....

Accusations should not be taken as fact.
