I've made a purchase and its bright yellow!

Nice :) Although you say the Evo will embarrass this, I bet this feels a lot better ?

Yes mate, they are completely different cars with no doubt, I've only spent circa an 1hr in 911's as a driver so too early to comment, but the feel/communication is simply amazing and very awarding.

But I think to move a 911 fast on UK roads is an art and will come with time. The 911 will be just as much fun if not more but I'll be going at half the speed, certainly good for my license. :)

End of day 911 is 360BHP weighing in at 1390kg from a 3.8l N/A flat 6.

The EVO X is 390BHP weighing in at 1540kg from a 2.0 FI 4 pot.

The EVO has epic mid-range in comparison, but the Porsche is faster of the mark without trying and seems to accelerate faster the faster you go, but at the same time it feels scary so you back off way before then. :)

Christ, you've made some crap car choices in your time ;)

slightly OT - that from Rugeley way? The rear numberplate rings a bell!

It won't, C2S will gobble up an Evo in the right hands, Evo in most hands and THAT is why a 911 is more fun. Good choice, watch for stones in those discs!!

When you say watch for stones do you mean to avoid driving over loose pebbles and areas like that?

probably stones getting caught between the metal guard and the disc, I had one get stuck, not that big a deal on normal discs though

Nice looking car but it's still a VW..sell it fast and get a man's car again :)
But I hope you enjoy it....

Noooo, stones stuck in a disc can wreck em, then welcome to BIG BILL 1. Many boys who track them pick up stones due to kitty litter excursions and they can bugger the disc up good and proper. It'll be fine, they are truly fantastic brakes, stop like an anchor.

Ah so basically just keep a good visual inspection on them and make sure none have got lodged in then? :)

When you've had this for 3 months go drive an Evo and you'll spot the flaws in the package. You will HATE the steering, the brakes, the intervention of the trick stuff I promise you. It's nothing to do with badge snobbery for the Evo is great fun, but it's not top table good. You'll soon see, promise.

Nice colour, few cars can pull of yellow, but it goes well with most exotic cars.

I pass a bright yellow Aston Martin DB9/DBS/whatever in bright yellow on a morning and it looks fantastic, even if it's not a colour I'd choose. The Rock made Ferrari 355s in yellow awesome too !
