I don't see the point. All reports seem to suggest the revolt has almost been crushed. Too late to the action, and some reports suggest people are galvanising behind Gaddafi.

so are we going into Bahrain as well? Civilians there are dying too.

i know its a naive and silly question but i have to pretend we live in a sortof democracy right?

I thought major allies to the west are actually helping the bahraini government? I know the UAE and Saudis sent in people to help.

Yeah helping the Bahrain government oppress it's revolutionaries, ie. the opposite of what we are supposedly doing in Libya.

Just stay the **** out to be honest, it's got nothing to do with us what so ever. don't these idiots in charge learn from the last government.

Good news, though wasn't it like two weeks ago that Gaddafi was bombing the **** out of the people? Bit late now UN!

Wonder which squadrons are gonna do it? Cousin is on Tornados and is about to go to Afghan IIRC.

Bahrain is a completely different kettle of fish.

Hopefully they can act fast and actually make a difference, he will no doubt intend to level that city.

Personally, I'm happy to see this happen.

Gaddafi is a delusional despot who continues to use his armed forces against his own people, already killing and injuring thousands. He has threatened "no mercy" to people who oppose his forces in Benghazi and without intervention would likely have killed many more to retake Benghazi and crush the rebellion.

If there was ever a time to get involved militarily in a middle eastern country, for the sole purpose of preventing civilian casualties - I think it is now. Especially when the UN and Arab league has backed it and the people on the ground are begging for it.

Another excuse to murder a bunch of shepherds and get soldiers killed, in a country that has nothing to do with us, apart from oil. Sound familiar?

Not really

Enforcing a no fly zone over Libya doesn't require the use of Soldiers and the Libyan air force doesn't tend to employ Shepherds to fly its planes or man its air defence.

This makes me sound a little cruel, but what about the constant civil wars going on in Africa and South America that we just ignore?

Libya is in Africa!

It also happens to be in the part next to the Mediterranean/Europe...
