Car looks so right to be honest, although I'm not a fan of the orange running light things on the head lights, just makes the E60 look odd.

Epic car, insanely fast and very nice.

Though I do have to say the wheels don't suite the car as well as the usual M5 wheels you see, but apart from that very nice.

It's still within it's 3 year manufacturers warranty (just...) but will have a 1 year BMW warranty at no cost under the Approved Used Car scheme. This can be renewed for about £1200pa if the mileage is under 60,000 (or for considerable more over 60,000 miles). The full level of cover is available until the car reaches 100,000 at which point it significantly reduces. The use the mileage at renewal date so if you're on 59,999 you pay the lower price for the following 12 months.

You can also pay monthly... which works out a little bit more expensive, but supposedly they just make a continuous payment arrangement and never check the mileage again until you stop the cover.

I changed the exhaust on the e39 and had it taken off again as it was boomy and terrible on the motorway. The e60 engine/exhaust note stock is exactly the kind of thing I was after from the e39 in the first place... it doesn't need to be any louder/different for my tastes.

To be honest BMW have got the exhuasts just right on the more recent models.

I took a 335i M Sport out yesterday and like Pete found the exhuast note to be pretty much ideal.

Really doesn't seem like we've had the M5 a month already! Racked up about 1,000 miles so far at an average of about 16MPG which isn't really that terrible given the right foot will be a bit heavier with the new car novelty and the old M5 wouldn't have averaged over 20 anyway.

Finally got the private plate back on today
