I'd be shocked if we (UK) didn't get any sorties in today, we've been preping longer than most / all other nations, and if as reported Canadian F16's are going to be involved no reason why we shouldn't be.

At a guess Libya will be cut into 3 - 4 zones along the coast and we will get the far east.

was anybody in central london today by any chance? was there any protests regarding the libya situation

Yea. I was somewhere in Central but cannot remember for the life of me where now. Just a few students with the usual 'Revolution!!!' banners and chants. Rich w******* that couldn't point Libya out on a map or pick Ghadaffi from a line up, but thinking it's 'cool' to protest. I didn't see any major protests though. Might be some in Trafalgar but I aint going down there any time today.

1700: The Defence Ministry in Paris says a French warplane has fired the first shot in Libya as part of the enforcement of the no fly zone imposed by the United Nations. The target was a Libyan military vehicle.

1653: France will send an aircraft carrier to Libya, the French defence ministry has told AFP.

interesting..

An example of Clinton's doublespeak.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says the international community is speaking with "one voice". "Colonel Gaddafi's campaign of violence against his own people must stop," she says. "A ceasefire must be implemented immediately. That means all attacks against civilians must stop. Troops must stop advancing on Benghazi."

The rebels aren't civilians, are they. They are a military force.
