ICC ODI World Cup 2011

Congratulations Pakistan; you made history. We definitely didn't deserve to win. I think the Cup will now come down to India, England and South Africa. At this stage I reckon South Africa has the best chance.

:)

Thank you...it was our pleasure beating you and bringing to an end your unbeaten run at the WC...34 games was it??...pretty damn impressive.

Pakistan are such a strange team, but when they got their head screwed on they really can play. I said from the beginning that they are contenders to win the cup. India and England for me haven't really impressed me and Australia haven't really been tested. One thing you get from the Pakistan team whether they winning or losing is entertainment !!!

Tournament looks wide open to me apart from New Zealand and the Windies could see anyone of the other 6 winning it. It's impossible to second guess what England are going to do!

Funny stat is England have actually taken more points from the other qualified teams in their group than any of the other quarter finalists 2 wins and a draw!

Most definitely an entertaining match from the Paks whether they are winning or losing.

SA are definitely the strongest of all sides imo...the only side to have taken 10 wickets in each of their group games as well. India have a good strong batting lineup but their bowlinbg and fielding isnt that great....whereas Pak have a great bowling attack but a useless batting lineup and an equally useless wicketkeeper:p although to be fair he played pretty well whilst keeping today.

Not really sure about the Aussies though...they have some decent batters and bowlers but they arent really clicking when they get pushed as Pak showed today...struggled to make any sort of decent score....SL i feel are the dark underdogs...decent batting lineup and decent bowling attack...wouldnt mind seeing them go all the way to winning the WC.

Dont think in all honesty England will get past the QF stage...they have been desperately lucky to win against the WI the other day....i think they are tired from the ashes tour and long ODI series against Aussies...so wouldnt be surprised if they are out in the next game.

India and SA final probably, if it's possible?

Going by recent events, I think Pakistan will end up losing to West Indies in the quarters, Sri Lanka might actually beat England then SA will win and so will India.

Really hope that India doesn't mess up :\

Though the experience in the team is so vast that they are somehow able to soak up all the pressure on them

EDIT: It doesn't make sense. The better India do, the more pressure is on them  Because they win when they concentrate, but a lower concentration leads to less pressure :p

India in the final? That would require them to bowl half decently.

As I've said before, their bowling isn't as awful as people make out. It's just that Dhoni sometimes does silly things. And the fielding is dire. The fact that the fielding is so poor makes the bowling figures look worse. I would much rather India improved fielding than improved bowling.

Of course India has no tail, their batting lineup is so long!

In all seriousness, Harbhajan can bat (he's at 8)

When you have a batting lineup like india's, you don't need 9, 10, and 11 to be able to bat. As long as you don't choke in the powerplays :(

Pakistan are the best team to watch due to their aggressive and entertaining nature. Whilst their lack of consistency is a setback for them, for me it's great. If Afridi has a swing and it goes straight to a fielder (as well as the team failing) it means I can go and get lunch sooner :)

Wow. Replay shows that umpire would've given it not out. And commentator's say that third umpire would probably support him.

Good on Tendulkar.
